@_DebbieOA More importantly it was an important cultural point that revealed that the traditional marriage still exists and is not evil or destroyed by woke culture.
It was great joining Njideka Akunyili Crosby — a gifted Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based artist — to unveil our first portrait together. This piece reflects so many chapters of Michelle and my story, and we’re thrilled that it will be on display in the Hope and Change lobby at the Obama Presidential Center starting this Juneteenth.
@Xo_nado1 This behavior has been normalized in Nigeria. Anywhere else the RSP is known so the mark up is pegged. I don't believe any Nigerian salesperson sells at a loss. They can never go below their cost price. I see foodsellers letting their goods rot rather than sell at a discount.
I told my niece I'd buy her an iPhone if she scored 300 and above in JAMB.
She's 17, wants to study Medicine, and has been borrowing her mum's phone to read past questions since January.
We made the deal in February. Handshake and everything.
Last week, her result dropped.
Who is this guy? Medical school training is strikingly similar everywhere….
I remember one day on ward rounds, one
One of my colleagues was in the middle of presenting a case he had been assigned to… usually you talk to the patient the day before ward rounds, so you have the updated story…
The professor asked the patient whether her symptoms matched what the student was describing…
Patient said NO. 😆😂
It was bloody that day…
When they move abroad as immigrants - they make friends based on visa categories. They don't even date below their visa categories. 😂
When they're on Twitter, the reiterate that stratification. small accounts vs big accounts. 💀
I reflect a lot on our ideological design, as a people. Nigerians are morally bankrupt, culturally deficient and rooted in faux elitism.
This is why some markets exist for us, because they can take advantage of that shameless insecurity - and I genuinely don't think the reason is poverty.
I've visited other poor countries. These countries do not see cars beyond what they are, a means a transportation. They don't see restaurants beyond what they are. They don't see dates beyond what they are.
Something fundamentally is wrong with us.
For us, it isn't even enough that we succeed - it is important that other fail, or don't succeed as much as we do. It is important for us to have an edge other others. It is such a sick attitude.
Person A has one house. Person B has two houses. It isn't enough that they both have roof over their heads - Person B innately subclasses Person A.
You should also to hear from a Nigerian gym goer that you're not "man enough" because you don't bench as much as he does. 💀
As segwayed as these analogies are, they are rooted in the same proportionality. It points to the same mental illness.
Who did this to us?
Most Nigerians are unwilling to acknowledge their shortcomings. Instead we're more comfortable blaming the boogeyman in whatever guise they can form him(Mr Nobody)

Should I try and explain? Do you promise to receive my explanation with civility even if you don’t agree with it? Ok here goes:
There are only three learned professions: Law, Medicine and Theology. That is why when a lawyer is cross-examining a doctor or clergy from traditional churches, they do so with a measure of respect.
The learned title means that the person is not just educated, they have acquired professional training and been examined in terms of knowledge AND character and found to be worthy.
By that training, a learned person learns about the whole human being. That is why you can present certain symptoms to a doctor and he may ask you about work stress, diet, the home front, etc.
A priest will do the same and will ask about your marriage, your children, your work, etc. he will additionally worry about the destination of your soul after you die.
Similarly, a lawyer understands human nature and the duality between his ability to do good but also to do shocking evil and is confronting and navigating that in his work daily. He will worry about protecting your life and property both when you are alive and when you are dead.
In each of the three professions, the person trusts you with their life, liberty or soul. Also, a learned person can be struck off if they misbehave.
So, you see? Lawyers, doctors and traditional clergy are, by their training, more than just educated. That is what is different. ✌🏽
The premise is straightforward. Imagine charging consultation fees based on percentages of a patient's net worth or based a percentage of the drugs prescribed? Not ethical or fair.
What if all of physics emerges from consistency between local observers? That’s the core idea behind Observer Patch Holography (OPH).
This 20-chapter book explains reality from the ground up to the emergence of space, time and particles.

At a traffic stop, we were flagged for not having fire extinguisher on us. Instead of us paying 3,161.25 via remita as stated, they seized our license and told us to come to Eleyele(1hr drive);Which is illegal as confirmed by the FRSC ACT, Court of Appeal and dailypost publication
I just found out that whenever i leave for work, my security man takes my key from where i keep it, opens my door and puts stuff like drinks/water in my fridge and takes them out before i come back. I left the house this morning and came back because i forgot something i was supposed to give to someone. I opened my fridge and i saw stuff that i didn’t put there. I asked him and he admitted to it. I don’t even know how to feel about it.
Just read an interesting court judgement delivered in Francistown.😂A man wanted to marry someone, when they engaged the family, as part of negotiations, they requested that he pay for her tertiary fees at UB(350k). After completion, she didn’t feel the same way about the marriage. She feels she doesn’t need to reimburse him and that sex was enough, it was his free will to sponsor her. The court ordered her to pay 700k to the man.
