@1015FM1570AM@natesportsguy 100% agree with ya here old friend!
Especially once a team has qualified for state, seeding is largely irrelevant. There is a theoretical small rest advantage for the 1 seed, but you are at state, win 3 games or don't, thats sports.
Congratulations to the Lincoln JV Boys Basketball team on a fantastic season, finishing with an impressive 15-4 record! A special thank you to Coach Jansen for his leadership, dedication, and commitment to helping our players grow all season long. #FAMILY#GoPats
@1015FM1570AM@MattKerney You got me. This is not like any other situation, pro or amateur, in any sports league in history. Furthermore, your single tweak will solve this unique issue to the joy of every invested person and team, for eternity. Only the best teams will ever go to state. Logical indeed.

Looks like the grass isnt always greener. Seems Nebraksa is regretting the exact changes people think will "save" HS hoops in SD.....
Not sure this is what is best for High school post season in Nebraska . District games now consist of mostly empty gyms and blow out games. I think it was best to have local teams playing district games in sold out gyms!
@1015FM1570AM@MattKerney They sure do, they prove it by....beating the teams in their region. Same way you qualify for the playoffs or championship in every sport on the planet. Sometimes the AFC is tougher than the NFC, that's inevitable with sports, as mentioned ad nauseum.
@1015FM1570AM@MattKerney They HAVE the opportunity, they just have to win their region, thats how they prove they are the "best" teams that "deserve" to go to state.
@1015FM1570AM@MattKerney Teams cant choose their conference on a yearly basis based on how hard it is, nor should they. A region loss doesnt guarantee you miss tourney either, as top 2 make state. You are changing "state" from 16 to 32 teams, literally doubling the size.
@1015FM1570AM@MattKerney Your attempts to distance your "tweak" from countless, nearly identical, others that have had mixed results at best is telling. The simplest solution is for teams to win their regions if they want to win state. Everything beyond that is soft.
@1015FM1570AM@MattKerney Yet they keep watering down the tourney by adding more spots for teams who werent good enough to win their conference tourney in the first place... explain the difference please?
@1015FM1570AM@MattKerney Every team gets to the postseason in NCAA too, they call them conference tournaments, they vary in strength each year, but if you win, you go on to the big dance......
