Since there’s very little media representation of type 4 hair(4b and 4c), I decided few years ago to wear out my hair during significant periods in my life.
I’ll be sharing tips on how I got my hair to this level ⬇️
1. I leave my hair alone. 80% of the time, my hair is in a protective style. I let it breathe between styles.
2. I took my time to study my hair properties to properly care for it. Jargons like porosity, texture, structure- yep, useful!
3. I do a lot of DIYs. Hair butter, prepoo, deep conditioning.
4. I run away from tension on my scalp. I’m tender headed already, and I take caution with my edges very seriously.
5. Finger detangling >>>> using a comb. Go for a detangle brush instead.
Your village people haven't won, and your family isn't cursed. You live in a country where it is 5x harder for young people to achieve their goals. There is nothing wrong with you, you are not a failure. You are simply a product of a struggling economy.
The terror these children and their teachers must feel, being in the middle of a forest, afraid for their lives, exposed to the elements, hoping to be rescued 💔
posting feels inadequate but it's better than forgetting them or looking away. God abeg
A HUGE fan of the push to keep under-16s off social media. I think it's an excellent idea, and NONE of the alleged positives, combined, amount to even a fraction of the immense, often irreversible negatives. I hope governments and society implement as quickly as possible

Just imagine growing up not knowing peace only the terror of Fulani bandits lurking in the shadows. Little children, terrified to sleep, to play, to dream. 💔
Where is the government that promised to protect us?
They have FAILED us. Completely.
Enough is enough. 😡🔥
Watch the moment the husband of Mrs. Rachael Alamu, the principal abducted by bandits in Ogbomoso, breaks down in tears while pleading with Governor Seyi Makinde, who visited Oriire LG, to hasten the rescue operation for his wife and others.
Can’t believe we’re battling terrorists that kidnap, rape and murder, and still battling citizens that choose to also casually engage in rape and murder.
Every freedom you have as a woman was earned through the sacrifice of women who came before you. You didn’t inherit these rights by luck. Someone marched, protested, and paid a price for them.
We’re slowly getting used to an insane amount of violence. Levels of violence that are unprecedented. We’re seeing children whipped and burnt and we’re scrolling.
Christianah Akanbi is the name of the 2 years old kid in kidnappers den deep in the forest in Oyo state.
