Might get a slight bump from a new coach, but could just as well continue the slide into Leaf and Winnipeg Territory.

Not nearly enough good FA players to eat all that $, so let the bidding wars begin!

Too much emphasis on the short game (win tonight) rather than the long game (build a complete team).

Give every player a sense of value instead of 97+29 every time things get tough.

They would spend many millions more if the cap wasn’t handcuffing them.

The only teams that care about cash are small market with low budgets. Do you think that’s the type of team he wants to go to?

@JonathanWillis There’s a good chance the Oilers will be worse when Nurse is gone, but there’s also a good chance they are worse even if he stays.

So I’ll take my chances with the attempt at True Change, over Slow Erosion.

@BleedOilBlue I love 97 but I wouldn’t call him influential. He sits here quietly while the organization continually screws with his legacy.

Influencers make things happen; he does that on the ice, but otherwise I don’t see him using his voice to affect change for the team or the league.

All of the best bets are either taken or unavailable, so we can only hope that whatever clown we end up with, flukes into being the right guess for this team at this time.
