The Congolese community in South Africa is in mourning. Boxer Roméo Katompa, widely known by his nickname "Bololo," died during the night of July 16–17 after being burned alive in an attack in Johannesburg. According to initial reports, the tragedy is believed to be linked to the wave of xenophobic violence currently affecting several parts of South Africa, where foreign nationals have increasingly become targets.

Having lived in South Africa for several years, Katompa had built his life there. Married to a South African woman and the father of one child, he was a respected figure within the Congolese diaspora. He was also well known in boxing circles, having served as a sparring partner for Junior Makabu, the former WBC cruiserweight world champion.

The exact circumstances surrounding his death have yet to be fully established, but the news has already sparked deep grief among Congolese nationals living in South Africa and across the African boxing community.

The tragedy once again highlights the recurring issue of violence against foreign nationals in South Africa, a persistent problem that has repeatedly claimed the lives of members of African communities living in the country, including Cameroonians.

Good morning, my Conscious ladies and gentlemen, lovers of freedom, truth, and justice.

Yesterday's AGM in Birmingham was truly encouraging.
England then added to the celebration by securing third place in the World Cup after the heartbreak of our defeat to Argentina.
It was heartening to see such a strong turnout, bringing together people who genuinely care about our people and remain committed to the cause they believe in.
Beyond the numbers, there was a shared sense of purpose, reflection, and responsibility - the responsibility of the restoration of Biafra, the release of Mazi #NnamdiKanu, and the freedom of all our brothers and sisters who are being unlawfully detained.
One of the highlights for me was the workshop, "Why Did You Join IPOB?" It was a timely reminder that every journey begins with a reason. Taking time to reflect on why we joined is essential because our original purpose should continue to shape our character, our conduct, and our commitment.
Reflection is one of the pathways to consciousness, and consciousness gives direction to action. I will share more of my thoughts on this later in the week.

IPOB UK Holds AGM Evangelism Outreach in the United Kingdom

Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) UK on Saturday held an evangelism and public sensitization outreach as part of activities marking the IPOB UK Annual General Meeting (AGM).

During the outreach, members engaged members of the public on the streets, distributing informational materials and interacting with passersby. Participants were dressed in Biafran colours and regalia, with some wearing branded caps and other items bearing Biafran insignias.

The exercise was conducted in a peaceful and orderly atmosphere as participants carried out their evangelism and awareness activities.

The IPOB UK AGM Evangelism Outreach forms part of ongoing diaspora activities aimed at public engagement, awareness creation, and community mobilization.
