Ogopa DJs were truly ahead of their time. Many artists under the label didn’t fully grasp their vision, but Ogopa mastered the music business long before anyone else in East Africa. Industry giants like Babu Tale and Sallam even came to Kenya to learn from them. Legends like Bebe Cool and Chameleone launched their careers here, refined their craft under Ogopa’s mentorship, and went on to revolutionize the Ugandan music scene. Ogopa had mastered payola long before Kenyan radio presenters and station owners even understood it.
