"Forgiveness isn't about that person you're forgiving, whether it's someone who's wronged you, or that past version of you that did those things you regret. It's not about forgetting the harm that was caused, it's not about evening the cosmic scales. It's about letting go.
What is it with you people who think we all live the same life?
I bought a vinyl record two weeks ago.
I bought 6 actual books last month alone.
You don't like having things?
The justification here mentions “consumer trends” several times, but multiple releases this year - Requiem, 007 - sold out with the limited supply made available. Those “trends” are an engineered decline to save face for the corporate benefits of moving away from physical media.
People have got to get out of this mindset that if something doesn't affect them, then it doesn't matter to them. Even if you are a person that has bought only digital or mostly digital, there are still millions of gamers that buy mostly physical, and this removes that option.
One day I'll be able to express all of my frustration, rage, contempt, and disdain for the AAA games industry, but today is not that day.
The coming weeks are going to be bleak. Remember that these are people with families that did not make the decisions that have led to the closure of their studios and loss of their jobs. These decisions are always made by those at the top that will never face the terrifying reality that your livelihood can be snatched away at a moments notice. They will never face financial destitution, and they will always be able to leech off of another industry as they did before they entered games. The laborers suffer, and I fear the unions involved will not be able to do much in the way of helping the laborers.
We are going to lose a lot of collective knowledge over the next month or so, and it's never coming back. When these studios close, there is so much lost. It's extremely upsetting.
It looks like PlayStation 6 is going to cost Sony about $1,000 to make, which likely means it will cost more than that at retail
