Now these are tame examples. Others have it 100% worse. I believe that some doctors do genuinely care but there are others who lack empathy for their patients. Thereโs a disconnect somewhere.
when I fell onto my stomach early in my pregnancy my OB told me to go to the ER so I did. The doctors there questioned why I even showed up since I wasnโt spotting. When I said my OB told me to they rolled their eyes. Treated the whole thing like I was being dramatic ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
The number of people who believe doctors โhateโ patients is heartbreaking. No one goes into medicine because they despise patients, what a vile assumption.
Are doctors perfect? No. We are human. We make mistakes. Many of us are stretched thin. But at our core, many of us are here because we care, deeply.
We know that many people have been failed by the healthcare system. We understand that frustration; many of us are patients too. But it is devastating to see that pain exploited by those selling grift, conspiracy, and false hope. I will never stop calling that out.
If youโve made up your mind that doctors donโt care, that truly saddens me. Because most of us are doing our very best to fight for our patients every single day.
Another time I was super sick in high school and the doctor we saw at urgent care kept insisting I was sneaking boys into the house and was pregnant. When they did a pregnancy test and it came back negative he shrugged and basically said I was fine. He didnโt check anything else
We are literally immigrants. Our ancestors immigrated here illegally and stole land. Our DNA is a mixing bowl of other nationalities. To pretend that we are anything but is ridiculous.
the craziest thing is no matter how loud we scream about how things are projected to go and how scary it is nothing will change. people will say we are fear mongering. but the fear is right
what no one tells you is how hard it is to take care of a sick baby. so much of it is maintaining and observing while their little body learns to fight off the virus :(
