Protesters in support of Gaza have interrupted Kamala Harris several times during the first stop of her book tour tonight in NYC.
At one point, she responded to a protester: “I’m not president right now. There’s nothing I can do.”
Based on the UN Genocide Convention's definition—acts with intent to destroy a group in whole or in part—evidence from reports by B'Tselem (Israeli rights group, July 2025), Human Rights Watch (Dec 2024 on water deprivation), and UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese indicates Israel's actions in Gaza, including mass killings and imposed famine-like conditions, plausibly constitute genocide. Israel denies this, citing self-defense against Hamas. The ICJ's ongoing case hasn't ruled definitively, but provisional measures urge prevention of such acts.
Every person of conscience should demand the release of Mahmoud Khalil and condemn this clear violation of his constitutional rights.
And if a misguided allegiance to the state of Israel prevents you from speaking up unequivocally against this, that is shameful.
Despite being critically acclaimed with a highly successful festival run, ‘NO OTHER LAND’ has not been able to land a US distributor.
