I am the moon,
Ever-changing, ever-returning.
I reflect what light reaches me.
And in the ebb of my brightness,
I learn that fullness is never lost,
Only transformed.

Ateneo de Manila is the school of presidents, senators, oligarchs, and Cabinet secretaries. It is the finishing school of Philippine power.
Two poor boys died under their watch. One from Agusan del Sur. One from Nigeria.
Not exactly the Ateneo demographic, are they?
They were recruited for their height and their game. They were useful to the institution.
And when they died during a school-organized activity, the institution responded with four boilerplate paragraphs and a request for "privacy."

So many people tagging me sa FB posts nila, ragebaiting me to engage. Good luck! Haha! Magugutom kayo sa atensyon. You wonโt earn from me.
And I think thatโs what we should all do. Wag natin sila pansinin.

Bakit tayo nag-NO sa Anti-Political Dynasty Bill?
Under this measure, one clan can hold positions across multiple levels of government. Therefore, concentration of power still remains in the hands of a few families.
pwede pa ring magkampihan, magtulungan, at mag-protektahan.
The funny thing is IF this hearing is eventually judged to be illegitimate, these so-called โresource personsโ spewing defamatory statements can be sued. None of the immunity accorded congressional proceedings.
So yes, hayaan niyo na lang silang maghearing-hearingan. ๐
Loren Legarda is lying through her teeth and gaslighting everyone.
The New Majority-12 did NOT elect a Senate President.
They declared all positions vacant with a quorum of 12 legally backed up by the Senate Rules, the Constitution, SC jurisprudence, and Senate practice.
Why should Legarda know this?
Itโs because in May 2015 when three (3) of their fellow Senators were arrested for plunder and she was abroad on an official trip, they used a quorum of 12 out of 17 available Senators to conduct business.
Guess who was one of the Senators in 2015?
Yep, Loren Legarda. Along with Alan Peter Cayetano and Pia Cayetano. Resibo below. ๐
And not one of them objected or claimed the session was unconstitutional. Not one of them filed a case before the Supreme Court.
You are now in estoppel, Senator Loren.
So no, we wonโt be gaslighted. ๐

SENATE BACK TO WORK FOR THE FILIPINO PEOPLE
We express our deep appreciation and commend the courageous decision of Senator Francis โChizโ Escudero to take the floor today and confront the issues facing the institution. His action sent a clear message: that his commitment to the country, to the Senate, and to the Constitution would prevail above all else.
His presence enabled the Senate to proceed with the discussion of matters that are too important to be left unresolved and too consequential to be set aside.
On the issue of quorum, this is not an uncharted matter. The Supreme Court, in Avelino v. Cuenco, recognized the principle that a quorum of 12 is determined based on the number of members who are legally able to discharge the functions of the Senate.
There is likewise an institutional precedent. In 2015, the Senate recognized a quorum of 12 senators who were within its jurisdiction. The Senate continued to perform its constitutional duties because the work of government could not be placed on hold.
At a time when the nation faces pressing challenges, the Filipino people expect their Senate to work, deliberate, and fulfill its constitutional mandate. The institution cannot remain stalled by disagreements or uncertainty. Our duty is clear: to legislate, provide oversight, and serve the public interest.
The Filipino people deserve a Senate that shows up, does its job, and places public service above politics.
It is time for the Senate to move forward and get back to work for the Filipino people.
