Japanese stiltgrass is one of the worst invasives I see around.
I’ve tried everything over the years. This year, I decided to test three different pre-emergent herbicides.
You can see the plots for yourself in the video.
Initial results from best to worst are:
1) Pendimethalin, brand name Prowl H2O, seems to have the best control at this time.
2) Prodiamine looks to have about 90% control, but I see small pockets of germination.
3) Plateau, brand name imazapic. Least amount of control—does not seem effective at all as a pre-emergent option for Japanese stiltgrass.
the war against thr great odorous house ant invasion opened up a new front. ive tried pyrethroids, tetraborate bait, fipronil bait, thiamethoxam bait, indoxacarb bait, bait tabs, spinosad bait pellets, and now: diatomaceous earth. all in the last 2 months. can't get rid of em
Did you know? The American holly was named Delaware’s official tree in 1939 when the state was the leading exporter of holly Christmas wreaths. #delaware#agriculture
🚜 Farm Watch: Soybean Harvest in Delaware! 🌾
In Clayton, Delaware, Legacy Farms—owned and operated by Mark Wilson—is busy harvesting double crop soybeans with three CASE combines. Double cropping allows farmers to grow soybeans after wheat in the same field, making the most of Delaware’s long growing season.
Soybeans are one of Delaware’s top crops, used for animal feed, cooking oil, biodiesel, and even industrial products. This sustainable crop plays a key role in supporting both local farms and the broader agricultural economy.
