Thankful I’ve been able to maintain contact with my grandma through all of the flooding and devastation happening in Western North Carolina and East Tennessee. Her area is flooded badly, but her house is okay for now. Horrible to see all of the families who can’t say the same 😭

I used to be a lot more open about what I’m doing in life and shared my successes and goals, but the saddest truth is many people do not care and do not actually want to see you succeed no matter how much they pretend they do and it’s so sad. And now that I’m older, I see it.

My student and I are discussing “The Bluest Eye” today and one of my other students came to the door to try to distract us so my student says to her, “we are trying to discuss complex societal racism, want to join?” And the other student says, “….no thanks” and walks away 😂🤦🏼‍♀️
