They're still going... no seriously... They're STILL filibustering iNebraska for trans rights!
Senators Cavanaugh, Hunt, Fredrickson, and others are continuing to filibuster the Nebraska legislature to stop a trans healthcare ban. It's gone for months.
Not a single bill!
@daniel_m_lavery I have been haunted several times by an unplaceable sound coming from my kitchen—like very, very distant fireworks. It’s always my husband’s beans bubbling in the instant pot (slow cooking overnight) and yet I never learn. Happy to know the beans ARE to blame.
BREAKING: Big Publishing's suit against @internetarchive now has a date for oral arguments: March 20.
We look forward to one of the internet's most beloved nonprofits having their day in court. Statement here: https://t.co/Ou5lBaqprT
It’s really mind-blowing seeing the @nytimes—one of the chief purveyors of false/misleading “doomsday headlines” about crime in NY & around country—now reporting on the electoral impact of their own harmful journalism practices. And yet mentioning only other papers & “media.”

One of the most beneficial things about immersing yourself in deep study of American history is that you get to a point where this country can no longer effectively lie to you about why it is the way it is. It disabuses you of the notion that the inequality we see is an accident.
@Flickr I’m so angry about this and your terrible response. I have 15k photos on Flickr. I’ve been a member since 2005. I have never advertised anything! I put up family photos and use the Commons. None of your pro “features” do a thing for me. Extortion.
Fortunately (I guess...) there weren't many women in the second half of Venom, so I couldn't be further distracted by their impractical, over-designed heels with weird diagonal strappy things. #whatsupwiththat
Oh man this is the coolest thing I’ve ever heard, I’m embarrassed I made it to 50 without ruining other people’s evenings by being triggered into a violent rage when confronted with words that made me feel like a dumb little baby
Small lies matter, even about yearbooks. From the standard jury instruction: “If a witness is shown knowingly to have testified falsely about any material matter, you have a right to distrust such witness' other testimony and you may reject all the testimony of that witness ...”
Just finished a James Tiptree, Jr., story about a future where all men have died off, leaving women to form a happy, planet-wide loose collective. Very appealing after this week.
In case you missed it because your attention was elsewhere yesterday:
The EPA is dissolving its Office of the Science Advisor. It also placed the head of its Office of Children’s Health, on leave without giving a reason. https://t.co/0sr1elTB8d
In N.M., people who’ve been convicted of a felony can regain the right to vote. Once they’ve completed their sentences—including probation & parole—and received a certificate from the court, they can re-register. It seems like a lot of people may not know this. Pass it on.
