Because the DfE quite simply pay no attention to school holidays. They operate as if school leaders are available to work 24/7 and take liberties with our contracts because we don’t have directed time. Leadership wellbeing and workload isn’t a consideration.

A very valid question to my mind is … Why is KCSIE released so late in the day to the sector, more so when some schools are now on their summer break? This is a vital document that underpins so much in terms of safeguarding practice and it isn’t a short read.

@MrTeece_ @SamStrickers181 The toolkits and all their talk of wellbeing is about teachers. They take liberties with our contexts because we don’t have directed time. They don’t show the consideration for school leaders that they expect leaders to show their teams.

It is unacceptable to move the deadline for applying for marking reviews to 24th July.

We are on holiday. What about leader wellbeing and workload? What if we are out of the country?

This must be changed.

@LucyGoBag Agreed. @educationgovuk and the @bphillipsonMP should also not have agreed to it but it really shows how leadership wellbeing and workload just isn’t a factor in their minds.
