things that make it more likely an album will suck:
- no Don Toliver features
- the songs aren't in the right order!
- no lasery synths
- the colors on the cover art are too bright!
- not enough lyrics!
@Cili_ander@weedvriska@zombAewAlk It wasn't a counting error, they updated the rules for when songs go recurrent (how long a song can linger in the Hot 100 above a certain threshold), this was done after the 2025 chart was notoriously slow & stagnant to the point there were 100-week old songs that wouldn't leave.
@pradabears@qnorapname_ if someone struggles to talk about music & LPs without calling something a "light 9" or a "7" then they're not equipped for proper music discussion.
"oh this album's a 10" "nuh uh its an 8 at best" "nah its a 5 plus" is not a discussion
number scores are arbitrary & mean nothing
@AbounderMD@zombAewAlk Well this is just completely false. Bad disposable hits have existed as long as songs could be hits.
You know what the biggest single of the ENTIRE 70s decade was in the US? It was THIS thing, and it sure isn't a centerpiece of anything.
