Newsmax has put out *85 videos* over the past year glazing Israel and portraying the Jewish state as a wonderful, "safe" place for Americans to travel to—in the middle of a war.

At the very end of these videos, they say they're "brought to you by Lapam"—though they never spell it out (and the transcript says "LA Palm," "La Pom," "Le Pain," etc.).

It turns out "Lapam" is the "Hebrew-language acronym" of LPM, the Israeli Government Advertising Agency.

Does anyone think this classifies as a genuine disclosure?

As I note below, I had to go back to the first videos they posted to see they revealed at the very end that they're "sponsored by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs," which is a proper disclosure everyone can understand (though deeply embarrassing to their credibility).

From my review, they only did that proper disclosure in the first three of the 85 videos they have up (7 videos in their playlist are "hidden").

The State Department has a "Level 3: Reconsider travel" advisory for Americans thinking of traveling to Israel due to the risks of terrorism and unrest.

Spent most of the day with a dear old friend I had not seen in several years. He is 15 years my senior, quite frail, and likely not long for this world - a retired professor of linguistics, highly regarded for his works of textual criticism.

He tutored me in the tools and arts of textual criticism for about five years (2008-2013). I learned a lot from him.

He and I and our wives together attended many great plays at the first-class Utah Shakespeare Festival here in Cedar City.

Anyway ... I was chagrined when, in response to my playing for him my piano piece linked below (On the Fields of Ukraine), this old friend replied, "Putin is a demon; a blood-thirsty killer."

After a pregnant pause, I said, in measured tones, "Well, I have long been convinced Americans, in general, when it comes to a knowledge of peoples of the earth, their rulers, and the perplexities of the nations ... well, in my considered opinion, Americans are quite arguably the most misinformed and thoroughly propagandized people in human history. We live in an empire of lies."

I then deftly changed the topic of conversation to something I knew he wanted to talk about, and our visit continued very agreeably.
