@ksluiter I feel all of this. What is it about previous generations and their DEEP level of denial? They died so much younger, yet drank and smoked in droves. Yet. My parents judge ME for going to therapy and medicating legit issues for myself + kids.
It’s so frustrating when people say “no one ever said that covid could lead to chronic illness/disability/long covid” because disabled people have been talking about this from the beginning.
Sometime around Memorial Day the US will pass 1 million dead from this pandemic. A book listing the names of those we’ve lost would need 6000 pages. We’re still losing 500 people per day. I don’t have an urgency to get back to normal. I have an urgency for the dying to stop.
@NPR Pretty soon, Florida kids won’t have to learn from any books except the, what, Bible? Oh wait… think there may be some issues with that book too. Hmmm.

My senior year of high school, a friend of mine wound up getting pregnant. She had to get up in front of the church and apologize. Just her…alone, in front of over 100 people. Something in me changed that day. It was the beginning of an unraveling for me.
