@JDaredevil2 I was born at 28 weeks (mom went into labor at 27, 10 days bedrest). Thankfully no disabilities but scared the hell out of my parents. I’m pregnant with my first and my dad called me for my birthday and said “I remember what you did to me 27 years ago, I won’t survive that again”
@maiab That is absolutely not a safe dog! I’m all for dispelling the idea that you can’t have a “dangerous dog” with a baby but this seems like an accident waiting to happen. If you don’t want to train your dog, get a shih tzu or a toy poodle or something that can’t hurt anyone
@hamnett_mike@TheEcho13 My ring was $900. I picked it out myself and just didn’t care about having a real diamond and it’s a relatively simple style. My husband wanted to put in a diamond and I asked for CZ. This ring just looks like it came from Walmart and the presentation doesn’t help.
@mikejwhelan My husband got her when he was 9 and he’s a whole doctor now! I met her when she was already 15 and she’s the best girl. I love when the vet agrees that she’s the best cat ever lol
@mikejwhelan I replied to your earlier post saying my 21 year old cat wasn’t doing so good. She’s finally turning a corner and I’m celebrating right along with you. Our babies are such fighters and so precious.
@fupalympics@starstuccoo Reflexive probably means the doctor ordered it as “if the first comes back positive, reflex to more tests” so they don’t have to reorder. Not that it was positive. It’s a pretty standard way to order tests as far as I know
@RuhoyMD That’s not abnormal. Some docs list all PMH in the first sentence whether it’s relevant or not. My notes when I had a jaw infection were “21yoF with a history of ADHD and hypothyroidism” which both had nothing to do with my jaw.
@Dr_BellaR “I’ve had great experiences with some of them and understand their utility to help physicians in the overstretched system however I am concerned when their responsibility may outweigh their training and would like more outcomes data before I make a sweeping statement”
@april_peterman@mikejwhelan@JWILLIS708 Agreed. Either accept the gift or buy it yourself— you don’t want Rebecca to get it and reinfection is horrific. I’m sure you see a lot of people who are wearing Covid-level PPE around you right now and it’s for good reason!
@hashjenni You don’t. People have mirrors and tags on their clothes. Unless it’s your partner or child, in which case you say “hey you’ve gained weight and I care about your health, how can I help?”
@ineedanothernap The science is pretty clear that medication is an overall positive for everyone involved including the child. Lower rates of pretty much every bad outcome in medicated vs unmedicated. Valid reasons to do both but it’s certainly not the “wrong” choice
@mikejwhelan BG of 124 is probably not a concern but low sodium explains neuro issues
Also AFAIK EColi is normally found in stool and bladder infections are usually just the normal bacteria not the bad kind that cause food poisoning so it’s not something you ate/did, just shit chemo luck
@mikejwhelan Not a doctor but trying to help
This is an obvious one but what are you drinking? If you’re urinating a bunch and replacing with water, you could be losing electrolytes. Have you tried electrolyte drinks (pedialyte)
@mikejwhelan Looks like they found your infection! It’s not a good thing but it’s definitely an explanation, which is a good thing, and probably treatable with abx
@WhatTheADHD Some of your meds are somewhere else of you would’ve noticed going a few days now that your meds are hidden and presumably you haven’t taken them!
@saltylungs He also didn’t realize that he was the reason my grandfather was there and eventually I got the asshole to listen to me and he went “oh oops yeah take him home we’ll follow up outpatient”
@saltylungs I still remember being on the phone with my grandfather’s GI and saying “well yeah I don’t want my 87 year old grandfather in the hospital” and him going “I don’t really care what you want, it’s inconvenient for me too.” I didn’t mean it was inconvenient I meant there’s COVID!
