The state of Iowa has child labor violations at a rate that's roughly 10 times the national rate relative to the child population.

Iowa had 14.8 violations per 100,000 minors, compared to the national average of 1.5 violations per 100,000 minors.

What the hell is going on? Why aren't employers being arrested for child labor violations? Why won't the federal government and Congress do anything? When will the media actually care?

Businesses are exploiting children as a crutch to support their unwillingness to hire adults at a livable wage. This is a huge step backwards.

Lindsey Isaacs, a 23-year-old from Palm Coast, Florida, testified about being thrown into solitary confinement for more than three days after a Flock license-plate camera wrongly tied her Dodge Durango to a deadly I-4 crash.

Jail staff told her she had to stay isolated because of how serious the charges were. The cell door stayed locked for about 86 hours.

She said she was terrified she would spend the rest of her life in prison for a wreck she knew she hadn’t caused.

At her lowest point she didn’t want to live. She spent nearly two weeks in maximum-security jail before prosecutors dropped the charges.

Flock should be sued out of existence for this.

Wikipedia has been doing some really awesome social media posts. They've been hiring artists & animators to talk about random Wikipedia articles or explain how it works.

They could have just hired influencers, or made text posts. But this feels much more grassroots. I love it

My wife got suspended from work last night

She’s works for a private ride share company that takes people on Medicaid to appointments
She got emailed to go take a random drug test at 6:30 last night (she’s never done drugs)
Urinalysis place closed at 5
They automatically marked her as noncompliant and suspended her account

Automated employee management with no way to communicate with your employer, other then emails, is such a dystopian approach to business

I had no dog. I stood at the fence every morning to watch. I had no name at all.
