Building strong organizations starts with building financially informed leaders๐
During our recent virtual Entrepreneurship Education Training, participants engaged in insightful discussions around financial literacy and business #sustainability, key tools for strengthening youth-led initiatives and enterprises in todayโs changing economic landscape.
The session explored practical topics such as:
๐ The 50-30-20 budgeting rule
๐ Smart business budgeting and financial planning
๐ Different sources of business financing
๐ Debt management and responsible borrowing
๐ Separating personal and business finances
๐ Building healthy financial habits for growth and sustainability
Participants also openly shared their experiences, challenges, and lessons around accessing financing, managing resources, and navigating entrepreneurship as young leaders and #changemakers.
Through these continuous learning spaces under the #SheriayaVijana Project, we are strengthening the capacity of youth-led organizations to become more resilient, informed, and financially empowered.

STRI4Society Week is being delivered through a strategic collaboration between key national institutions and ecosystem partners. They include; the State Department for Science, Research and Innovation, the National Commission for Science and Technology (NACOSTI), the National Research Fund Kenya, and the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA), whose roles strengthen the policy and research foundations of the convening.
The event is further supported by a strong lineup of sponsors spanning energy, finance, conservation, trade, and development sectors, including Vivo Energy, KCB Bank Group, New KCC Ltd, GS1 Kenya, Busara, Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), Foreign and Commonwealth Office, HERI AFRICA, Cashia, Kenya BioVax Institute Limited, International Centre for Humanitarian Affairs, Wyss Academy for Nature, as well as energy-sector contributors including nuclear power and energy stakeholders, alongside Science for Africa Foundation.
