I don’t think people realize how absurd this is. Scottish runner Josh Kerr just broke the mile world record in 3:42.66, an average speed of 16.2 mph. Most people couldn’t even briefly reach that speed, let alone sustain it for an entire mile.
Parmita Mishra at Precigenetics is right to call out Anthropic’s safety-capture in AI-biology. Capital in this space rewards the operators who ship while the rules get written by the captured.
Grateful to be on stage today at the @ahahospitals Leadership Summit talking care redesign with Chris DeRienzo, Betty Chu and Christine Donohue-Henry.
My takeaway is this. For @SanfordHealth, value-based care starts with the patient. In rural health, access comes first.
What we do won't change. How we do it must.
Congratulations to Steve Walsh on being named the next President and CEO of the @ahahospitals.
I've had the opportunity to see firsthand Steve's exceptional leadership, his commitment to patients and communities, and his ability to bring people together around the issues that matter most to healthcare.
Steve has a proven track record of advancing policy that strengthens healthcare, building trusted relationships across the healthcare landscape and helping hospitals better serve the communities that depend on them. His collaborative approach and deep understanding of our field make him the right leader to guide the AHA into its next chapter.
I also want to thank Rick Pollack for his outstanding leadership and unwavering dedication to America's hospitals and health systems. Rick has been a tireless advocate for our field, helping navigate some of healthcare's most challenging moments while strengthening the voice of hospitals on behalf of the patients and communities we serve. His leadership has left a lasting impact.
I look forward to serving alongside Steve as we continue advancing the AHA's mission. Congratulations, Steve, and thank you, Rick, for your remarkable service.
The energy and inspiration at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis was truly remarkable. @SanfordHealth is proud to support this event and the nearly 3,000 athletes and 1,500 coaches representing all 50 states.
These athletes embody perseverance, sportsmanship and the power of inclusion. Their passion, determination and commitment to excellence are inspiring, and it is an honor to celebrate their achievements alongside families, volunteers and supporters from across the country.
Thank you to everyone who makes these Games possible, and congratulations to all of the athletes representing their states on this national stage. Your accomplishments inspire us all!
As we recognize Juneteenth, we honor a pivotal moment in American history—a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of opportunity for all.
At @SanfordHealth, we believe every person deserves the opportunity to live a healthy life. While significant progress has been made, we know that disparities in health outcomes, preventive screenings, chronic disease management, and access to care continue to affect communities across our region.
Building trust is essential to changing that reality.
Trust is earned through listening, showing up consistently, being responsive to lived experiences, and partnering directly with communities to address their unique health care needs. It is built when people see themselves reflected in their care teams, when they feel heard during their health care journey, and when access to care is available before illness becomes a crisis.
This Juneteenth, we reaffirm our commitment to partnering with the communities we serve to improve health outcomes through prevention, education, and early intervention. Whether it’s scheduling an annual wellness visit, receiving recommended cancer screenings, managing chronic conditions, or accessing behavioral health services, preventive care can save lives and strengthen families for generations.
Healthy communities are built together. As we celebrate Juneteenth, we remain committed to advancing health, fostering trust, and ensuring every person has the opportunity to achieve their best possible health.
Thank you for allowing us to be your partner in care.
Grateful to join an incredible group of health care leaders at the @USNewsHealth care of Tomorrow conference today. We discussed the future of health care, including how we expand access, strengthen the workforce and improve affordability. What we do will not change, but how we do our work must. The future will require collaboration, innovation and a relentless focus on solutions. #USNHoT

I am proud to share that @SanfordHealth is committing $2 million to the Sioux Falls Zoo & Aquarium’s We Can’t Wait! campaign, bringing this incredible project one step closer to reality.
This gift helps advance the campaign's $25 million goal, which will match Denny Sanford’s historic lead gift, and help fund a world-class aquarium, an expanded education center and a reimagined butterfly garden.
In recognition of this commitment, the new shark habitat will be named the Sanford Health Shark Reef Habitat, featuring sharks and rays from the Indo-Pacific region.
Our partnership with the Zoo & Aquarium goes back more than 15 years. Zoo educators have regularly visited patients at Sanford Children's Hospital, bringing moments of wonder and connection to children during some of their most difficult days. That relationship reflects something we deeply believe: that caring for our communities extends well beyond the walls of our hospitals and clinics.
The Sioux Falls Zoo & Aquarium is a cornerstone of our community where families can explore, learn and connect. Investments like this enhance the quality of life in Sioux Falls and strengthen the economic vitality of our entire region. I can’t wait to see these transformative spaces come to life.

@SanfordHealth was proud to join the @MN_Chamber at its Session Priorities event, where business and policy leaders gathered to kick off the 2026 legislative session.
Health care is foundational to Minnesota’s economic vitality and the strength of our communities. Last year, Sanford Health served more than 294,000 patients across 20 hospitals and 75 clinics, supported by more than 9,800 dedicated employees throughout the state — caregivers and professionals who show up every day to serve Minnesotans.
We are at a defining moment for health care, and Minnesota has an opportunity to lead. By working together, we can advance practical, forward-thinking solutions that strengthen care, support caregivers and build a more resilient and sustainable health care ecosystem for generations to come.

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of visiting Prairie Lakes Healthcare System to meet with employees following the recent partnership between our two organizations.
Prairie Lakes has long been a trusted provider of exceptional care for Watertown and the surrounding region. Now, as part of @SanfordHealth, together we’re strengthening our shared mission to advance world-class, compassionate care close to home.
We’re excited about the future ahead as we build on Prairie Lakes’ strong foundation and invest in the health, wellness and quality of life for communities across northeastern South Dakota and western Minnesota.
