I've had the opportunity to see firsthand Steve's exceptional leadership, his commitment to patients and communities, and his ability to bring people together around the issues that matter most to healthcare.

Steve has a proven track record of advancing policy that strengthens healthcare, building trusted relationships across the healthcare landscape and helping hospitals better serve the communities that depend on them. His collaborative approach and deep understanding of our field make him the right leader to guide the AHA into its next chapter.

I also want to thank Rick Pollack for his outstanding leadership and unwavering dedication to America's hospitals and health systems. Rick has been a tireless advocate for our field, helping navigate some of healthcare's most challenging moments while strengthening the voice of hospitals on behalf of the patients and communities we serve. His leadership has left a lasting impact.

I look forward to serving alongside Steve as we continue advancing the AHA's mission. Congratulations, Steve, and thank you, Rick, for your remarkable service.

The energy and inspiration at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis was truly remarkable. @SanfordHealth is proud to support this event and the nearly 3,000 athletes and 1,500 coaches representing all 50 states.

These athletes embody perseverance, sportsmanship and the power of inclusion. Their passion, determination and commitment to excellence are inspiring, and it is an honor to celebrate their achievements alongside families, volunteers and supporters from across the country.

I am proud to share that @SanfordHealth is committing $2 million to the Sioux Falls Zoo & Aquarium’s We Can’t Wait! campaign, bringing this incredible project one step closer to reality.

This gift helps advance the campaign's $25 million goal, which will match Denny Sanford’s historic lead gift, and help fund a world-class aquarium, an expanded education center and a reimagined butterfly garden.
In recognition of this commitment, the new shark habitat will be named the Sanford Health Shark Reef Habitat, featuring sharks and rays from the Indo-Pacific region.

Our partnership with the Zoo & Aquarium goes back more than 15 years. Zoo educators have regularly visited patients at Sanford Children's Hospital, bringing moments of wonder and connection to children during some of their most difficult days. That relationship reflects something we deeply believe: that caring for our communities extends well beyond the walls of our hospitals and clinics.
