Marques calls himself a tech and car reviewer, which is funny because he doesn’t review the most advanced technology vehicles—Teslas. He used to, but not anymore.
In fact, he has never talked about or tested:
- FSD V14. Funny because we are nearing V15 now.
- Cybercab, which he said wouldn’t be personally owned but also said it would hit the roads this year (they’re everywhere in Austin).
- The Tesla Semi, which was theorized to never be possible.
Now the Roadster. He completely blows it off like it’s nothing and will never exist. If this were Rivian or Lucid, he would say the complete opposite.
This video was terrible to watch because you can feel the hatred he has for Tesla due to political reasons. It’s quite clear, weird, uncomfortable, and embarrassingly sad.
@MKBHD Are you fucking retarded?
Your takeaway from the most incredible technological breakthrough in cars in history is:
“This is a prank, right?”
What happened to you man?
I was such a huge fan and you’ve lost all of my respect, so sad to watch.
In the summer of 2023, my friend @benspector, who co-founded Anysphere (aka Cursor), reached out to one top venture funds in Silicon Valley, suggesting we meet.
They turned down the intro, saying it wasn’t a category they were interested in.
Ben insisted that he thought our team was special and that they had to meet us, but the partner still wouldn’t even take a meeting.
I drove over to their office on Sandhill Road and left a note at the front desk saying: “I think you couldn’t be more wrong. This is the largest opportunity of the 21st century.”
They ignored my note, and I never heard back.
My cofounders were still enrolled and left torn as to whether they should drop out with no funding.
We ended up taking the leap of faith and building the fastest-growing company in history.
It was a valuable lesson in persistence and why not to listen to investors.
The best startups are deeply contrarian.
Today on the 3rd anniversary of October 7th I want to reshare this video
Before Israel responded — while they were still clearing Hamas fighters inside Israel
Thousands gathered in Sydney to cheer on Hamas’ terror chanting “Gas the Jews”
October 7th was one of the most horrific events of my lifetime
But this video was the moment it became clear how subverted the West has become
And therefore how twisted the narrative would be
coming to the states as a non-native founder, i noticed a huge lack of confidence comes from just not being able to speak as freely. i was too focused on fluency, avoiding hard words, and preplanning sentences in my head instead of speaking in the moment. sometimes i'd just cut out sentences entirely because i was so focused on being perfect
meanwhile, some guy who simply speaks fluently walks in and outshines people who are way smarter. communication decides whether we make a good impression with recruiters and other founders, or even worse, whether we even start the conversation because we're scared we can't keep up
im building something for founders and students who've been through this. dms open if u wanna share ur story, would love to hear it and learn about people's experiences on this
