After owning a Tata Nexon for 5+ years (66K kms) and servicing it regularly at authorized workshops — including opting for extended warranty — I’m shocked by what happened this week.
While parked at home, the coolant pipe burst and engine oil mixed with the coolant, turning it into a thick “milkshake.” Root cause: oil cooler failure.
Repair estimate: ~₹55K
Preventive oil cooler replacement earlier: ~₹4K
What’s more disappointing is being informed this is a known issue that cannot be detected during regular servicing, with no preventive advisory or proactive replacement recommendation from Tata Motors.

One of the most disappointing experiences I have had was at Spinny Nexus Suguna Mall, Hyderabad. Despite paying the RTO charges upfront as part of the vehicle purchase, the RTO agent still requested additional money during the registration process. What was even more concerning was the lack of clarity and support from the Spinny delivery coordinator Venkatesh ( 9492991508) and his number is switched off now on this matter.
In addition, the vehicle's manual and service book and history and PUC certificate were missing at the time of delivery. I had specifically raised this requirement before delivery and was repeatedly assured that all documents would be provided. Unfortunately, those commitments were not honored. and today i took the car to the maturti service centre to be apprasied that the car was alst services 1 year ago at 10980 kms in Jun 25 and today during delivery the kms stood at 28980 and they requested me to get the vehicle tomrrow i.e 21 jun to service >>> what has spinny told me was false.... utter disappointing and now this cost me additional 8.5 K .. who will pay this?? a bunch of lies and flase promises by #spinny # spinnyhdyerabad
The overall experience has left me with the impression of unmet promises, poor coordination, and a lack of accountability. This was not the level of service I expected and has been a deeply disappointing customer experience.

@TataMotors@Schandr80504296@TataMotors_Cars@TejaswiAutomobi At this point, the best public service announcement for all Nexon petrol owners is: “Dear friends, please replace this legendary oil cooler masterpiece after 4 years or 40k kms before it decides to mix coolant and oil like a milkshake machine.” 📷📷 https://t.co/8MJGmJlAg7

Subject: Concern Regarding Coolant Oil Mixing Issue – Tata Nexon (2020 Model)
Dear Tata Motors Team,
I am writing to bring to your attention a recurring and serious issue I experienced with my Tata Nexon (2020 model), whose extended warranty expired at the end of last year.
On 26th April, I noticed oil mixing in the coolant tank. Fortunately, I identified the issue early while inspecting under the bonnet. I immediately took the vehicle to an authorized service center, where the coolant mixing unit, coolant tank, and coolant were replaced. However, even after the service, residue is still being observed, indicating that the issue may not have been fully resolved.
What is more concerning is that this does not appear to be an isolated case. A large number of Nexon users—potentially thousands—have reported similar coolant oil mixing problems. During my interaction with service centers, I was informed that this could be due to a manufacturing defect in the coolant mixing unit.
Additionally, I observed that the replaced component now carries a different part number, which suggests that Tata Motors may already be aware of the issue and has made design or quality changes. If that is the case, it raises an important question as to why customers are still being asked to bear repair costs for what appears to be a widespread manufacturing defect.
In my case, I had to spend approximately ₹12,000. However, I am aware of several other customers who faced much higher expenses, including radiator replacements costing upwards of ₹40,000.
Given the scale and consistency of this issue across multiple users, I would like to request clarification on the following:
Is Tata Motors officially aware of this defect?
Has any internal investigation confirmed a manufacturing or design flaw?
What corrective or preventive actions are being taken?
Why are customers being asked to pay out-of-pocket for a widely reported issue?
Is there any plan for extended support, goodwill repair, or recall for affected vehicles?
As a customer, I chose Tata Motors for its reputation and reliability. It is disappointing to face such an issue, especially when there are indications that it may be systemic.
I strongly urge Tata Motors to take immediate action, provide transparency on the matter, and support affected customers so they are not financially burdened for a defect beyond their control.
I would appreciate your response and am available should you require any additional details.
Sincerely, Ganesh Shetty

When your parents get older, something strange happens.
An unexpected circle of life moment.
@warikoo shares his realisation from a vacation with his parents in this week's newsletter. https://t.co/LIDyr2OIL3
All your models are suffering because of the pathetic after-sales service and shockingly low-quality spares from your service centres. Nobody cares, nobody takes ownership, and customers are left dealing with repeated failures, endless visits, and zero accountability. Absolutely frustrating and unacceptable

NEVER AGAIN.
For those who don’t know, @MamataOfficial cancelled me in Bengal after the release of #TheKashmirFiles. The film was taken out of cinema halls, and she said I would NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER Bengal.
Last year, she BANNED #TheBengalFiles completely in West Bengal. Our trailer launch was blocked. We were attacked and assaulted. Dozens of FIRs were filed against me. I was cancelled in Bengal. I couldn’t even go to receive my award from the Governor.
But we never gave up. During these elections, we ensured that #TheBengalFiles was shown to as many people as possible (underground) across Bengal.
I am glad we didn’t give and fought in our own little way. And finally… this unprecedented victory.
Congratulations to the great people of Bengal. Now you can walk without fear, with your head held high.
The Lotus blooms in West Bengal!
The 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections will be remembered forever. People's power has prevailed and BJP's politics of good governance has triumphed. I bow to each and every person of West Bengal.
The people have given a spectacular mandate to BJP and I assure them that our Party will do everything possible to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of the people of West Bengal. We will provide a Government that ensures opportunity and dignity to all sections of society.
