This video also shows the benefit of having a functional and an independent judiciary. The attorney deescalated the situation when the ‘journalist’ threatened them with a civil lawsuit.

In Nigeria, he would have been told to go to court before he could utter a word.

We know what happens when someone videos policemen in Nigeria. We also know what happens when a person questions them or demands justification for arrest or search.

The Police in Nigeria operates largely under a climate of impunity and lawlessness.

Historic progress!

The second reading of my bill for the creation of a new State in the SouthWest, Ibadan State, while also standing as its own capital, and a new capital, Ogbomoso for the already existing Oyo State, was a success.

While leading the debate on the floor of the House today, I stated that the proposed amendment is not just a constitutional restructuring, but a forward-thinking move that will address several social political, and economic concerns.

The creation of Ibadan as a state and its own capital, and Ogbomoso as the capital of Oyo state is a strategic and timely move for the advancement of the southwest region of Nigeria.
