I grew up in Houston and it always seemed to me as we had big immigration waves, that it wasn't just the immigrants that acclimated to our way of live, but we acclimated to theirs as well. Like a connection between. And honestly that's how it should be in this 250 year old country. We don't have thousands of years of one culture, we have 250 of many. So when someone says. Immigrants no longer integrate into society what they really mean is, they don't integrate with the society they experienced in their bubble, or the society they watched in movies. Houston has always been known for it's super diversity, and it's a big part of why Houston is special.

Texas its self has a culture that doesn't fit into what someone in Ohio might think is the American culture. And Houston is super different than Dallas which is super different than Austin.

Maybe next time you take a trip with your family to get some Mexican food, or some kolaches, or Thai, you think about that. Because those are as American as apple pie, and we're better off for it.

The United States of America spends astronomically more on healthcare and has by far worse health outcomes than any other industrialized nation in the world.

The difference? We are the only country that has refused to enact a universal healthcare model.

There are 31 systems to study and replicate. As our healthcare system implodes, enough is enough.

Not only is healthcare a human right, but we can no longer afford a system that puts profits over people.

If we don’t have a governing body capable of resisting the predatory insurance company lobbyists and finally enacting a plan that brings America up to the healthcare standards of the rest of the world, then it is time to vote them out and elect people who will.
