Studying for the #barexam is not fun. This will be a challenging couple of months. But it is a doable challenge, and you can get it done! Here are some of my #barprep tips that I share with my students.
Happy Halloween! And congratulations to our @unc_law Class of 2024 New York bar exam takers! Our first-time test takers had a 100% passage rate on the July 2024 New York bar exam!
Second Edition is now out! The book offers annotated exchanges to show what an attorney might do (or not want to do) while interviewing a client. Part 5 is new & focuses on ways that the #NextGen bar exam may assess interviewing & client counseling skills. @WestAcademic
Congratulations @unc_law Class of 2024 for receiving a 93% passing rate for first-time test takers on the July 2024 North Carolina bar exam!!
If you were unsuccessful...your bar exam results don't define you. Reach out when you're ready. We will get it done the next time! ❤️
What a celebration honoring the amazing civil rights attorney and former @NAACP_LDF President and Director-Counsel, Ted Shaw! Ted is a wonderful @unc_law colleague, where he continues to inspire and mentor future civil rights attorneys. https://t.co/n5rIPIA2xo
It's LEAP Day! LEAP's @unc_law's voluntary pre-orientation program that helps 1Ls transition to the academic rigors of law school in a welcoming environment. Missing @RachelGurvich, who always does a great job helping w/ LEAP. Thankful for other faculty/staff who are helping out.
You may feel like you should focus almost of all your attention on the essay law because there’s so much of it. That’s a legit feeling…BUT please keep practicing those MBE questions as well! You can help your overall bar score w/ a good MBE score (even in non-UBE jurisdictions).
For those of you not taking the Uniform #barexam: Remember to check your state board of law examiner’s websites. Many of the state boards have free old questions/sample answers, including Georgia, Florida, Virginia, Delaware, and California.
Remember that you're not required to get an “A” on the #barexam—you just need a pass. Don’t stress if you're not getting “A” results on your practice questions. You don’t need an “A” on the bar exam to get your law license.
Also, remember that your MBE prep also helps your essay prep! Generally, at least 2 (often 3) of the 6 essays on the #MEE test MBE law. So, all your studying and practice with the MBE questions will transfer to help you on the essays that test MBE law.
