Not going to lie, when the Naira was in free fall, I found myself wondering if people could actually retire with 1 billion Naira and even questioned whether the math added up. A billion is still a lot of money, my friends.
We’ve become desensitized to what a billion naira is due to constant headlines of embezzlement.
1 billion naira will pay a ₦500k monthly salary to 10 people for over 16 YEARS!!
@OjiUgo_nwa Even if you can afford it, it often brings a lot of problems for your loved ones, so it’s better to avoid it altogether. It hasn’t really worked well for many families, though it might have been fine for our grandparents.
@theonly1acre Haha, there are different kinds of 9-5 jobs, and some really hit differently. I remember my first day in one of my early jobs, I walked into the break room and immediately told myself I needed to find another job ASAP.
@UtomiPat If you truly love something, you’ll put in the effort to make it right. That’s how I see Nigeria, there are numerous issues, but we can tackle them one at a time when the majority decides it’s time to do the right thing.
@UtomiPat Hi Prof, I’ve thought about this countless times too, and my conclusion is that the issues are just far too many. I’ve realized they can’t be fixed in my lifetime. We all know the problems, but we’re not willing to put in the work to solve them. Sadly, many don’t love Nigeria.
@thisisdavepato@NancyMace Maybe focus more on matters concerning Nigeria and stop disgracing Nigerians here. New Yorkers voted for him, and he has been a great mayor.
Only one man stole all this; now imagine what 2,000 of them could have taken. The greed among Nigerian politicians knows no bounds, but I still give him some credit for investing part of it in the right places.
You used AI to create a slimmer image of yourself with a smaller waistline, and I was praising you for putting in the work to lose some weight. Turns out, I was fooled.
