The Election Commission of India filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court saying all three SIR orders issued in June 2025, October 2025 and May 2026 were unanimous decisions.

Affidavit filed on the petitions questioning the Chief Election Commissioner’s functioning.

The ECI said the counter-affidavit filed before it was unanimously approved by the CEC and both Election Commissioners.

Election Commission of India files counter affidavit in Supreme Court on plea against CEC's functioning; says petition built entirely on a single news report

What ECI says:

Affidavit approved unanimously by all three members: the CEC and both Election Commissioners

All three SIR orders (June 2025, October 2025, May 2026) were unanimous decisions of the Commission

Notes, queries or suggestions by the CEC or ECs while a file moves are not decisions of the Commission

Files go to one EC, then the other EC, then the CEC. In urgent cases, approval is taken electronically and recorded on file later

Any officer issuing orders beyond delegated powers will face action

July 28 work allocation order was issued by an Additional Secretary on deputation. Both ECs wrote to the Cabinet Secretary the next day. The order was never implemented after the ECs' joint direction of July 30

Form 6 has not been amended. Only the Centre can amend it. The SIR declaration is a separate document

Admits the online display could be read as an amendment. From October 21, the online application will be split into Form 6 and the declaration, as in the physical form

Unmapped voters need not attend hearings. BLOs will collect documents from their homes. Hearings only in exceptional cases, preferably online

ECINet: no name is added or deleted except by order of the ERO. A committee with experts from IIT and IISc has been set up to check compliance

कांग्रेस की राजनीति का स्तर लगातार गिरता जा रहा है। वैचारिक विरोध को व्यक्तिगत अपमान में बदल देना, राजनीतिक असहमति को अभद्र भाषा तक ले जाना और प्रधानमंत्री जी के परिवार को निशाना बनाना कांग्रेस की हताशा और वैचारिक शून्यता को दर्शाता है। यह सिर्फ़ एक व्यक्ति या परिवार का अपमान नहीं, बल्कि भारतीय राजनीति की गरिमा पर भी प्रहार है।

लोकतंत्र में विरोध कीजिए, नीतियों पर सवाल उठाइए, सरकार की आलोचना कीजिए, लेकिन व्यक्तिगत मर्यादाओं का उल्लंघन मत कीजिए।

आज कांग्रेस का सिर्फ़ राजनीतिक पतन ही नहीं हुआ है, बल्कि वह वैचारिक और नैतिक रूप से भी दिवालिया हो चुकी है।

कांग्रेस ने प्रधानमंत्री जी के परिवार का अपमान करके करोड़ों देशवासियों की भावनाओं को आहत किया है। जनता इस अपमान का करारा जवाब जरूर देगी।
