When a David or Joseph moment happens, some of the elder brothers can become unsettled. They wonder why they have been passed over when by age, experience or order of birth, they believe the honour should have come to them first.
But God’s ways are not our ways, and favour does not always conform to human expectations of fairness. Sometimes, many people may labour in the same field, yet one person finds unusual favour with both God and man. When that happens, the wise response is not resentment or competition. After all, no one wins a fight against favour.
The better path is to recognize the grace upon that person, support them and help elevate them. In doing so, we become partakers in the blessing, the mission and the success that favour makes possible.
Semeni Amen!
One day, Machakos KANU branch chairman Mulu Mutisya dropped by Professor Philip Mbithi’s office at Harambee House without appointment.
The professor, following Moi's mantra and advice of refusing to meet people without appointment, declined to see him.
Later in the day, the President requested Prof Mbithi to be at State House the following morning to discuss an impending cabinet reshuffle which he was to discuss with the head of state.
At State House, the professor was kept waiting for an hour only to discover the person the President had been talking to and laughing with all through was Mulu Mutisya.
When Prof Mbitihi mentioned to the President that the Machakos politician had been to see him the previous day, but he didn’t meet him as he had come without appointment, the President replied:
'Professor, how can you ignore Mzee Mutisya? He is the man who told me to give you the big job you have!'
Having finished drafting list of the cabinet reshuffle with the president to be announced the following day during the one o'clock news bulletin, Mbithi requested for a day off and headed to his rural home in Kimutwa.
The following day, the professor got to feel the full weight of the invisible powers that be when he tuned his radio at one o’clock to hear his name first in the list.
He had been demoted to be Kenya’s representative to the EAC headquarters in Arusha. When he called the President on the usual direct line to enquire whether there had been a mix-up in the list, the phone was answered at some hair salon in Kenyatta Market.😂😂💔
Good morning Rais @FaithOdhiambo8, Gov @HonKangata.
Does it not concern you that @KoinangeJeff called you for an interview on the bench and after spending more than 1 hour discussing issues of great national importance, @citizentvkenya decided to publish only a fraction (14min) but hide the other footage? Why should you continue giving shows like JKL legitimacy when it has built a reputation of amplifying gov’t propaganda while supressing independent views ?
Joel Kariuki Mwai, 45, was abducted at approximately 1:30 p.m. today Wednesday 18th June 2026 in Mathare Number 10 by unknown individuals who identified themselves as police officers.
He was walking from his shop in Mathare towards his home when he was approached by several men dressed in civilian clothes who claimed to be police officers. Joel is an active politician who has on several occasions contested for the MCA seat in Mabatini Ward.
Witnesses reported that he was forcibly bundled into a double-cab pickup with registration number KBZ 229B.
When residents attempted to intervene and prevent the abduction, the men drew their firearms and threatened them before speeding away with him.
His whereabouts remain unknown.
The other day, I sat down with a few gentlemen and one lady, all in their 60s and all Kikuyu.
I asked them about their preferred candidate for 2027 and to my surprise, one after another, they all mentioned Edwin Sifuna. I laughed and asked them why they were rooting for Sifuna when they were clearly not Gen Z.
They said Kenya needs a radical departure from the politics that so often disappoints its people. They argued that if we truly want change, then we must be willing to place our trust in leaders whose public record reflects integrity, courage and service. They lamented that too often we ignore what we already know about leaders, their well documented history, only to be shocked later when the very character traits we overlooked fully manifest in office.
What encouraged me most was not their choice of candidate. It was the realization that both the young and the old are increasingly reading from the same page. They are looking beyond tribe, age and financial status, and are beginning to judge leaders by the content of their character, their values and their vision for the country.
That said, as the opposition, pragmatism must guide the process that eventually produces our presidential ticket. We are fortunate to have strong leaders from whom to choose.
We have Kalonzo Musyoka, a seasoned statesman whose name is associated with integrity and remains largely untainted by allegations of corruption. He is known for his respect for the rule of law, his commitment to human rights, and his distinguished diplomatic service both within Kenya and across the region.
We have Fred Matiang’i, an effective public servant whose tenure in government earned him a reputation for performance, decisiveness and results.
And then there is the man who cannot be ignored in the 2027 equation.
A leader who has captured the imagination of many Kenyans. A leader whose rise has been driven not by state machinery or inherited political structures, but by the power of ideas, conviction and connection with ordinary citizens. A leader who speaks to the frustrations, hopes and aspirations of a generation searching for something different.
When the time comes for the National Conclave to make its decision, many Kenyans will expect Edwin Sifuna to be part of that ticket. Not because of entitlement, but because he has earned a place in the national conversation.
The white smoke that eventually emerges from that conclave must carry with it the hopes of millions of Kenyans who are yearning for competent, ethical and transformative leadership.
This is a security breach. Will these Airport employees be expected to do their job after this? Is tipping government employees like tipping a waitress/waiter at Pronto, allowed? Maswali mengi hapa!
Top Government officials have informed me that the JKIA Expansion Contract was above board but that the issue was they didn’t communicate well with the public. They assured me they will make full disclosure earliest today. And I told them that patriotic Kenyans want JKIA expanded and/or new more modern & bigger airport built. But all should be above board & transparent. And we don’t want that Zimbabwean involved in our strategic facility. A strategic facility needs people without criminal & fraudulent record or suspicion of them.
Did I see some tutam bloggers very excitedly claim that Ruto is the first African President to be invited to represent the continent at G7? Isn’t El Sisi also present in France?
Now, leave alone Africa. He is not even the first Kenyan president to be invited. Uhuru was invited twice. And we were there 😀
BREAKING: KTN has aired a major investigation alleging Kenyan IDs are being sold to people in Somalia for as little as KSh 15,000. We share some of the revelations.
Look at the images below.
The 2nd image shows Hassan Mohamed Nur's Somali identification documents. According to those records, he was born in Mogadishu on 14 December 1985.
The third image is a copy of a Kenyan ID featured in the KTN investigation. Key details have been blurred.
According to that Kenyan document, the holder was born in Tarbaj on 1 July 1985.
Same person. Different birthplace. Different date of birth.
If this were simply a case of lawful naturalization, why would the date of birth be different?
The investigation further alleges that the individual now holds a Kenyan passport.
And it doesn't end there; residents from Somalia and Ethiopia are being sold IDs. And it's scary. I am sharing more examples shortly. Follow me here- sholla ard
