@Valistryingg@steve03686723 if you genuinely think "i pay the check before it kisses rhe mahogany grain" is as good as something like "you wear the same jewels that i gave you as you bury me", a lyric with seemingly similar subjects, then u are beyond help
@Valistryingg@steve03686723 girl i think maybe u just need to get a life outside of fighting on twitter lol. we are on the same side!
again, if you actually read my tweet you would know that i said it is far less introspective and hard hitting than 90% of her other lyrics on other albums.
@Valistryingg@steve03686723 this doesnt mean i hate her or that i despise showgirl entirely or anything. i just recognize that I, as a hardcore fan for a decade and a half, know she can do better and look forward to seeing what comes next
@Valistryingg@steve03686723 she can be proud of that line! it's a good line! one of the best on the album! but that's the problem. when the rest of your work has incredibly introspective and personal, masterful storytelling, it's a bit jarring when you release a project that isn't up to that usual standard
i do want her to be an EGOT someday, but idk if that day is going to or should come in the next 3 years. despite this, if she does it anyway I will cheer loudly because I love when shes headstrong
โMaybe she wants an Oscar, that would leave her just needing a Tony to join the extremely short list of EGOT winners. Sheโs got three years left to beat Jennifer Hudson and become the youngest to achieve that feat. This being Taylor Swift, if itโs in the plan it may well happen.โ
