In September 2023, a six-month-old infant in Evansville, Indiana, was found with over 50 rat bites, including severe injuries that exposed finger bones.

The parents, Angel and David Schonabaum, and Angel's sister, Delaina Thurman, were charged with child neglect.

The family lived in squalor, with a rodent infestation reported as early as March 2023.

Despite multiple Child Services visits highlighting issues like clutter and animal feces, no action was taken.

In October 2024, Angel Schonabaum pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four years of probation, barred from contacting her children, and required to undergo a mental health evaluation.

David Schonabaum received 16 years in prison, while Delaina Thurman was given two years of probation.

Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada, co-founder of the infamous Sinaloa drug cartel, was apprehended yesterday in El Paso, Texas.

According to CNN, a US law enforcement official revealed that federal agents managed to lure El Mayo across the border with the assistance of another high-ranking cartel member who was instrumental in his capture.

Before his arrest, El Mayo was the only remaining fugitive from Mexico's list of 37 most-wanted drug lords and had never been arrested or imprisoned.
