In single-pass configuration (not multi-pass or chain-of-thought), LLMs are retrievers more than reasoners. Suppose you ask an LLM to get some aggregated result from its context window, it will probably fail. If your task's continuation or reliability depends on that aggregated result, you must use an Agent Status Bar.

Suppose you feed a long list of logs to an LLM, the logs are in the context window, and you want the LLM to use some statistics from those logs to continue the task. You can either use CoT to calculate the stats, or manually calculate them and add them to the context as a status bar. The second option is cheaper.

AI slop is valuable if a human is reading and analyzing it. I'm seeing very complex, bullshit output especially in long-context, unverifiable tasks, but sometimes there is something good inside this slop. Something you're missing, something you ignored, something you'll find if you spend more time. So we need humans to analyze the slop.

I couldn't understand reforming education for AI. What you will teach different from today so that we will just be on side of verifying. I think same skillset must be valid. The university teaches us to understand today and we need this skillset any case. No need to change anything. What you are expecting ? Should we give assignments which supposed to be solved by AI ? Does teach us true understanding ?

People are still denying AI's effect on layoffs and continuing to blame economy. I do not believe economy thesis, as expected AI is eating many jobs and will continue to eat. The best thing you can do is request regulation from politicians. Request to switch another occupation.
