Workforce differences between places aren’t about “locals vs Indians/Filipinos” they’re driven by things like population size, age demographics, wage levels, and which groups are willing to take entry-level service jobs.

In both the US and Canada, retail and fast food are heavily staffed by immigrants and students because those are the people available and applying not because locals don’t exist or are excluded
