i actually dont quite agree; you barely get to know the real Nikki before Bear breaks the One Wish Willow, but I think that's the point. She is stripped of her identity almost immediately & the only vestiges of it are what others say about her or when she breaks thru the curse
One thing that really worked for Obsession is that it had a fully formed ACT I. Which feels obvious from a writing perspective, but surprisingly is not the norm much these days with high-concept or genre films, which usually start with a flash-forward, an opening kill, or a shocking cold open. It starts quiet and intimate, and really takes its time showing you the characters' baseline before things get freaky.
Keke Palmer opens up about her thoughts on AI:
"The climate stuff is worrying and concerning, but then there’s the reality that it’s not going anywhere. So I find myself trying to figure out how to be prepared, how to create things that protect the environment, be a part of things that are making it ethical. But I’m also understanding how it’s democratizing a lot of spaces for people that otherwise couldn’t reach them. So it’s weird. It can be so positive, but it also can be so damaging."
