There is something remarkably unique about @RitikaChopra__'s investigative story on EC workings & the dirty deeds of Gyanesh Kumar.
🚨It was so watertight that IT Cell & Godi Media couldn't discredit it
🚨So impactful that the BJP Govt couldn't default to its usual - ignoring / frothing in the mouth / ED raids formula
🚨So wide-reaching that it could actually help save our democratic system from an absolute takeover.
Of course this last nail in the coffin to Gyanesh Kumar's credibility comes on the back of some phenomenal investigative work done by independent journalists and organisations.
One can only guess the kind of pressure @IndianExpress would be under right now - in Godse's India there is high cost to be paid for speaking the truth. So kudos to @anantgoenka@rajkamaljha and the team at Express - I guess the Ramnath Goenka Award for this year would be an in-house recipient :)
The people are united. Detained protestors are repeatedly being released by the people on the streets!
Jantar Mantar 2.0 is on!
Gyanesh will soon be gone!
Newslaundry's analysis has revealed a shocking pattern.
In the Uttarakhand voter list, all 5 individuals who filed the highest number of objections for removing voters' names from 5 assembly seats in the state are associated with the BJP.
Only Muslim voters are being targeted.
Their number of objections ranges from 230 to 4,855. In three constituencies, a single individual filed 49 to 99 percent of the total objections to removal.

Expose by @varthabharati: In a call recording, a Vartha Bharathi reporter speaks with a couple who filed Form 7 objections seeking bulk Muslim voter deletions. The husband and wife, both BJP workers from Madikeri Assembly constituency says, they received printed Form 7s from the party office and that 50 objections were filed from their booth alone.
Kannada to English Translation:
Reporter : Hello, this is Manoj from Varta Bharti head office.
BJP worker 1 : Yes.
Journalist: How many form 7s have you applied madam.
BJP worker 1: What is it about Sir?
Journalist: You had submitted Form 7 to delete other person's vote. Against how many people have you applied in your booth.
BJP worker 1: I have submitted against 10 people
Journalist: Was it because they were not staying in the village?
BJP worker 1: Yes. Hmm.. No.
BJP worker 2: We had a doubt, That's why we applied. We thought, They might have two voter ids.
Journalist: But, in the form, you mentioned 'absent', and after mentioning that in the form 7, Now you say we had doubt that they might have been registered elsewhere?
BJP worker 2: We actually had doubt if they had two votes, That's why we went to BLO and applied form 7 for our clarification.
Journalist: Ok. But the form 7 you submitted, The names were not handwritten, But it was printed right. Where did you get that printed form 7?
BJP worker 2: This was given to us by our party. From Somwarpete office.
Journalist: So in total for how many people have you both applied for deletion?
BJP worker 2: She applied against 10 people and I applied against 10 people.
Journalist: Okay. In total, how many people have applied in that particular booth?
BJP worker 2: In this booth, Against 50 people.
BJP worker 2: Is there any problem Sir?
Journalist: No no...
BJP worker 2: Is there is any problem? if so, we will take it back Sir.
Journalist: No no. Thank you.
Investigation Follow Up: In Odisha, with aid of state government officials, BJP tried en masse deletion of Muslim voters in Bhadrak constituency. We caught them red-handed, with hard evidence.
This is, arguably, the first time BJP party workers have been directly indicted in the Muslim voter heist. Our investigation helped protect voter rights.
But only a junior official was punished, we found, the senior administrative officer who helped BJP has got away scot-free.

#Watch | Booth Level Officers received bulk Form-7 applications seeking deletion of Muslim names. They were reported at at least six polling stations in Belagavi North Assembly constituency — four in Veerabhadra Nagar (polling parts 194, 195, 196 and 199) and two at the Government Kannada Higher Primary School in Shettigali (polling parts 209 and 210). BLOs at these stations told The Hindu that two men, claiming to be from the Belagavi City Corporation, brought a bulk of Form-7 applications seeking deletion of only Muslim names. The voters’ names and other details were pre-filled, while the objectors’ names were either handwritten or left blank.

Women in India’s capital New Delhi have taken to the streets after a string of rape cases, using bold slogans to demand safer public spaces and challenge restrictions placed on their movement in the name of safety.
The slogans have sparked a wider social media campaign.
Bulk Form-7 applications seeking deletion of names, largely Muslim voters, have been filed across several Assembly constituencies in Karnataka, with more than 4,000 deletions being sought, according to Form-10 statutory report, which consolidates details of Form-7 objections.

When police lathi-charged Muslim voters in Sambhal during the 2024 elections, the ECI dismissed the footage as "false".
The clean chit came from Sambhal's returning officer Manish Bansal – son-in-law of then Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. @scroll_in

Another day, another @IndianExpress break on the EC.
Sept 23. Our investigation breaks. The EC responds the same day: its platforms are protected against "unauthorized tampering", and EROs "function as per statutory powers."
What we didn't know was this.
The very next day, Maharashtra's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) wrote to the EC in Delhi asking for FOUR changes to ECINet, so EROs could use the discretion the law already gives them.
The same concern Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi had put on record.
Stay with me for @vallabhozarkarr's cracker of a story in today's edition
