What’s happening in France is a wake-up call to the entire world. 🌍 The cost of living keeps rising while everyday people struggle to survive. People are tired of working hard just to barely get by. Governments need to start listening to the people before frustration turns into chaos. 💯🙏🏽
i dont think famous disabled people ever have to be activists or advocates, but you can tell he was so passionate and doing this from his heart trying to fight for others in an industry that casts people that are disabled aside
you guys ever think about how one of the most influential and important skateboarders of all time passed suddenly this year and skateboarding's premier media outlet did fucking nothing to commemorate him?
and it's still crazy that a young (and at the time probably only on flow, if that) Alex Olson is sandwiched between Gonz & Gino in Dill's guest section
I think that Dolly Parton was, for a lot of people, an ambassador of the "good" values people think of when they think of Southern culture: kindness, hospitality, generosity, can-do spirit, sharp and witty and down to earth.
Dolly was born in East Tennessee and used her success to make it better. So much money from her attractions and fame came into our mountain communities and was put into schools and infrastructure. She made the Imagination Library to help childhood literacy in Appalachia. Every month since our daughter was born, the library has sent her a book with a note from Dolly encouraging her to be proud of where she’s from and to learn the importance of the stories that built us. Her husband passed last year and she spoke of being reunited with him. I’m glad heaven is a little sweeter, and sings a little better for it. Rest in peace to the Queen of Appalachia, Jolene could never.
