The fact that Chelsea gave Maresca permission to talk to Man City over a possible summer move and didn't block the transfer completely, despite having three and a half years left on his contract, looks good for Chelsea.
And for Maresca to go there and come back to resign mid-season looks terrible for Maresca. He better do well at City because clubs will be wary of his personality moving forward.
🚨🎙️ Rio Ferdinand on Enzo Maresca leaving Chelsea for Manchester City:
🗣️ “I’ll be honest, I never thought we’d get to hear the full story from Maresca himself. For months, everyone was blaming the owners for sacking one of their best managers in recent years, but the club simply knew something the public didn’t.”
🗣️ “If a player or a manager no longer sees a club as the place he want, then why should the club want to keep him? Sometimes the biggest move a club can make is knowing when to let go.”
🗣️ “From Maresca’s side though, I found it disappointing. Chelsea gave him the biggest opportunity of his career. They took him from Leicester, trusted him with one of the biggest jobs in England and gave him a platform to build his name.”
🗣️ “You don’t leave a club like that halfway through a project because Pep Guardiola calls you. That’s not how you repay a club that believed in you before everyone else did.”
🗣️ “I actually respect Chelsea for acting immediately. Once they realized his mind wasn’t fully at the club anymore, they moved on instead of begging someone to stay.”
🗣️ “And look at who they’ve brought in—Xabi Alonso. A manager with a bigger résumé, a stronger personality and someone who can influence an entire football club, not just the starting eleven.”
🗣️ “Maybe Maresca leaving and Xabi becoming available at almost the same time wasn’t just a coincidence. It could be a blessing in disguise.”
Morocco is not an underdog at all.
They outplayed Netherlands in all areas. Netherlands were playing a low block 😂
This team went toe to toe with Brazil and almost took their lives😂
Don’t mess with them. They’ll eat Canada next and will be in the quarters lol.
🗣️ Jurgen Klopp to MagentaTV on Jonathan Tah's disallowed goal. "If the goal is illegal, then Arsenal won't be English champions. They've scored 60 percent of their goals that way."
Sleeping early due to doctor’s instruction made me miss the chaos that happened in the midnight.
Germany x Netherlands are out of the World Cup? As how.
Highlights won’t do justice, it won’t suffice at all.
🔵🚨 Rio Ferdinand on Palestra to Chelsea:
Hijacking Inter for a player like this? Chelsea mean business. he’s physical, reads the game well, and has that Italian defensive DNA.
‼️ Juan Mata has agreed to become a shareholder in Australian club, Melbourne Victory.
The 38-year-old former Spain international has also committed to taking up an off-field role when he decides to retire.
