This administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has a pattern that works well for them.

Whenever there is a scandal of high magnitude, their first reaction is always the same.

They come out to deny it outright. Then, when the masses present stronger evidence that becomes difficult to dismiss, they suddenly go quiet, hoping the issue will fade away after a few days.

And, fortunately for them, it often works because we are a people who forget so easily.

We ask questions, demand accountability for a while, receive no answers, and then move on as if nothing ever happened.

When Joash Amupitan was accused of having partisan affiliation with APC, this was the same pattern that was used.

Recently when people suspected to be band!ts appeared in a viral video carrying sophisticated weapons, this was the same pattern that was used.

Sadly, this particular case appears to be heading in the same direction.

Why?

Because they understand one painful reality:

We, the masses, may raise our voices, express our anger, and flood social media with outrage, but in the end, we rarely sustain the pressure long enough to demand answers or consequences.

That is why silence has become their safest strategy.

They know that if they can outlast the public's attention, the controversy will eventually disappear, just like many others before it.
