One in 5 soil-dependent species is threatened with extinction, according to IUCN and @ConservationOrg research.
The report found another 20% are so poorly studied we don't even know their status. Soil hosts ~59% of Earth's species.

Israel was prepared to shoot down a FlyDubai plane after the captain was attacked in the cockpit, even with over 150 Israelis on board, two Israeli sources with direct knowledge of the situation told CBS News. https://t.co/FFczuT90Ak
BREAKING:
It turns out that the Omani co-pilot was already a radicalized Islamist when he studied in Australia in 2015-2017 and that Australian intelligence agencies kept a file on him.
Australian counterterrorism authorities are now investigating Hamam al-Hammami, who tried to crash a Tel Aviv-bound flight, amid reports that he visited radical mosques and radical Islamist websites while studying in Melbourne.
Two sources briefed on the investigation said al-Hammami previously studied at a university in Melbourne.
Local reports identify it as RMIT University.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has explicitly linked the attack to Islamist radicalization, saying al-Hammami had undergone "Islamist radical indoctrination" and that investigators had uncovered information pointing to Islamist tendencies.
On the other hand, mainstream media outlets in the West labeled the radical Islamist terror attack as a "scuffle" or
"spat" between the Captain and the co-pilot.
Western states keep downplaying the threat of Islamism as the authorities in Europe don’t want to deal with the huge problem of hate preachers who radicalize young men in their mosques.
@Osint613 All risk factors exist:
▶︎ We don't fully understand how it develops
▶︎ We don't have complete control over it
▶︎ It is capable of becoming smarter than us
▶︎ It can act independently and make decisions
▶︎ We are given it a physical body
▶︎ It was easy to blame someone if the plane had actually crashed and the evidence was buried. Then 9/11 S2.
▶︎ Anyway, a solo attack might be the best scenario for everyone, except civilians who need answers.
🚨🇴🇲🇮🇱 Israeli investigators believe the FlyDubai incident this past week was a LONE-WOLF attack...
The attempted hijacking of Flight 1073 by Omani co-pilot Hammam al-Hamami has been the source of ALL KINDS of speculation, from Al-Qaeda to Iran.
Investigators say other possibilities are STILL being investigated, but as of now, they think he acted alone.
Are you guys buying that? 🤔
