You people think someone wakes up and pays millions to buy useless data with no personal information? Data has value because it can tell them who you are, where you are, what you do, what you buy, what you fear, what you like and how to target you. Hiyo story ya “it will be anonymized” is just perfume on theft.
@sholard_mancity@carienimwa By the time wantam is out it appears most of kenya will have been sold off by this kakistokracy. Now they are on we, "the people" .
DRC has the Ebola outbreak.
Uganda too has reported cases.
Now look at the map.
Rwanda borders both DRC and Uganda.
Tanzania borders both DRC and Uganda.
South Sudan borders both DRC and Uganda.
Burundi borders DRC.
Zambia borders DRC.
None of them seem to be in panic mode.
But Kenya, hundreds of kilometres away from the outbreak, is setting up quarantine centres, panicking and acting like ground zero.
Make it make sense.
Many of us warned from the beginning that William Ruto's decision to allow the Ebola facility in Laikipia was a mistake by Ruto.
Because let's be honest.
If that facility was never approved, would Kenya be talking about quarantine centres all over the country today?
DRC has experienced Ebola outbreaks for decades(over 15).
Uganda has had multiple outbreaks too(over 6).
Through all those years, Kenya relied mainly on border screening, surveillance and monitoring.
We never saw this level of panic.
So what exactly has changed?
The outbreak isn't new.
Ebola isn't new.
The only new variable is Ruto & his decision in Laikipia.
Today, it feels like the government is trying to convince Kenyans that all this panic, all these quarantine centres and all these preparations are proof that the Laikipia facility was necessary.
To many of us, it looks like the opposite.
It looks like Kenya is creating problems it never had to justify a decision that should never have been made.
Something doesn't add up.
Marco Rubio: We can’t allow any case of Ebola to enter United States
Ruto: It will be very unfortunate, inhuman to refuse to set up Ebola facility in Kenya.
I’m not a mad man and other unlimited lies
Breaking : The William Ruto Govt is now planning to sell Kenyan data on eCitizen to anyone who can afford it.
Through the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy (MICTDE), the government is proposing a National Data Governance Policy that would create a state-run data marketplace.
The justification?
Generate extra government revenue.
Treat data as a "strategic national asset."
This may go down as one of the worst policy proposals ever put forward by a Kenyan government.
First they borrowed.
Then they raised taxes.
Then they sold state assets.
Then they securitized future revenues.
Now they want to monetize the data of ordinary Kenyans.
How much is enough?
When you give your information to the government, you do so because it is required to access public services, not because you expect the government to package that information and sell access to it.
No wonder every institution is being pushed onto eCitizen. Schools. Hospitals. Government services. More and more information is being centralized under one platform.
And before the defenders rush in, this is not just about whether names are removed or not.
The bigger question is this:
At what point does a citizen stop being a citizen and become a product?
Today they call your data a "strategic national asset."
Tomorrow what else will they decide is for sale?
A government that sees citizens primarily as a source of revenue will never stop looking for new things to monetize.

Kenya plans to sell anonymised, non-personal data from platforms like eCitizen to businesses, researchers, and NGOs.
The plan aims to raise revenue and improve government planning.
[Personal data like names and ID numbers will not be included].

Good morning Kenyans
This Sunday as we pray for the nation, we will especially pray for the man that will reclaim back this country from the shackles of death of this regime.
So help us God. Happy Sunday.

Ruto is traveling a total of 16 days non stop for matters than only benefit him yet he is spending 300M KES of tax money per day on these trips. This comes to a total 4.8B KES.
Just imagine what this amount could do for our healthcare or education or security. We have certified thieves in charge.
My anger blew the lid off. Now I just wait for 2027.
Dear @edwinsifuna I pray you win and you jail this Abunwasi.
