Your bf is missing the plot
he got it backwards
it's not that "men used to merely have to demonstrate solid long-term potential" - it's that masculinity was acceptable
the "short term dating skills" is just masculinity
the "amazing long term options who arent even noticed by women because they never delovped the traits that make a woman notice them immediately" are just men who have been fucked over by feminism lol
"traits that make women notice them immediately" = toxic masculinity and/or secondary sex characteristics which is correlated with toxic masculinity lol
Thurgood Marshall, A. Philip Randolph, Bayard Rustin, Medgar Evers, Fred Hampton. In the Caribbean, Marcus Garvey and Norman Manley. They built the movements intersectional thought grew out of. Others were also able to gain access to the academy to wrote the theory about them.
Obsessed with Manny in this movie like Okay I’m Scarface and I’m between 29-58 years old. Here is my best friend, a 21 year old Calvin Klein model I do everything with.
This is 100% correct.
The losing game these days is trying to play the game.
Doing anything you're "supposed" to do, following any of the socially codified paths - whether that's in work or with women - is the root to failure.
Why? Because the game is rigged and the competition is increasingly impossible. You can burn through your entire childhood and finances striving to get into an elite college, when an elite college is no longer a pathway to an elite job, and a elite job is not a pathway to a elite woman. Indeed, increasingly it is the opposite.
This is why nihilism is so rampant today - we still live under the old cultural norms that "if you do X, you'll get Y" when in reality that social contract doesn't exist anymore. You have to be the ABSOLUTE BEST statistically to compete against the crowd, and it's so hard to get to those lofty heights of status you usually lose your soul in the process. This is one of the things Clav is demonstrating, for instance; it doesn't matter if you max out all your stats, you still don't really win. You still don't feel fulfilled. The nature of getting there is so dehumanizing you are ruined for the prize you sought to begin with.
But that doesn't mean there is actually no way to win. It just means you have to start defining your own win conditions. It means making other people come into your reality, rather than you succumbing to theirs.
This is why the word I base my business around is Dynamic: driven, full of energy, and continuously changing. These days, you cannot play by the rules; you need to become a Dynamic Man in order to meet a Dynamic Woman - and ultimately develop a Dynamic Marriage. Indeed, you need to live a Dynamic Life if you want your life to mean anything.
And you do that by charting your own path and giving yourself fully and totally to it. You do what aligns with your growth; what expands your capacity, what excites you. You say Yes to the unconventional and No to the comfortable. You take asymmetric risks that your soul aligns with, rather than chicken out with the safe and predictable your mind tells you is "smart."
"Dynamic" ultimately means accepting the call to adventure, and making other people come into your reality, rather than you succumbing to theirs.
This may seem like fluff or obfuscation to some guys reading this, but it's not. I have worked with hundreds of men, and I can tell you without question the ones who end up almost universally getting the quality keepers (as well as having work that lights them up every day) are the guys who do not look to society, let alone women, for permission for how to live. They are creating their own story and inviting women to be a part of it, they do not need a woman to complete it. That doesn't mean they don't encounter bad faith women or experiences, but these don't faze or jade them. They brush them off and keep going; almost not noticing the "wasted" dates or months - because they didn't consider them a waste. They were just parts of the journey, which was getting better all the time.
In other words, while they are aware of what is cooked out there, they do not emotionally lock into this muck or identify as a victim of it. They do not look to politics or the economy or the dating market to tell them what their odds are; not because they are naive, but because they are not playing the game of averages. They are the n-1.
And this is what really matters. Because while the objective conditions genuinely are worse than ever, it has also never been easier to be the n-1. Truly, it has never been easier to break out of the matrix.
A lot of guys think they're "out of the matrix" because they're aware of how we're being conned; but escaping is having more than mental awareness, it's possessing emotional freedom. Dynamic Men do not despair; they invariably believe the best is yet to come. Because how could it not be? They're manifesting: the future is in their hands.
But it is very hard for most people to do this. They are used to social guardrails, for tasks to follow, boxes to check. They are defined by the collective; they do not know how to be individuals, or if they do, they resent the collective because they've been alienated.
Yet people will have to learn, especially as we move into the 2030s, and the fumes of the old world are extinguished. The only way you can stand out as everything becomes commoditized is to become someone so unique you are in a market all of your own. You need to have a story worth telling, a presence that can't be questioned - because it was earned.
That doesn't mean you shouldn't try to improve yourself, look good, etc. - but do these things because they are congruent with your own self-actualization and self-respect, not because they are what you "have to" do to meet a standard. Because really - if you actually have the aura that comes from living dynamically like this - it doesn't matter. No one will care if you're not 6ft, or if your hairline isn't perfect. Because you will have actual gravity, in a world where most people are just pretending.
People can say what they want online, but it's felt. And anyone who has it knows the results speak for themselves.
"For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away."
This is a reminder that you have to constantly face your fears to expand your life. Your fears never stop. Once you've slayed one dragon, you have to slay another.
PS: don't show this thread to my daughter 😀🦊
@AFCLee_ Even with Ortho/NSGY ? As a med student I just hear it takes a while to get into private, not much work there and even then they want someone with an established rep.
Reading:
- difficult content like building mental muscles similarly to them.
- hard sciences/micro economics as solid foundations (Adam smith - start with originals first then current interpretations - builds worldview/understanding)
- read originals and classics
You have to pick your poison usually and mold them accordingly:
- high agency, independent, disagreeable, less easily poached
- lower agency, agreeable, submissive, more easily poached
The first one you can make more submissive with strong competence and decisiveness.
The second you can make more devoted by encouraging their autonomy and cherishing them.
Both converge towards Queens, albeit different flavors - one is the ride-or-die type who will kill everyone who harms you, the other will bless and inspire you with her serenity and grace.
Either works, and you'll likely be drawn to one or the other based on your own personality.
The only kind of woman who is an absolute no-go is the low agency, entitled type. Worst of both worlds, unreformable in practice. Stay far away from them.
I mean I hate to be the guy to have to say it, but fuck it I will
An emotional old man is not going to change. He’s emotional. And an old man. The probability of transformative personal change bar a head injury, serious narcotic use or transcendent spiritual experience is technically non-zero but functionally should be considered zero.
What you have to bear in mind is that repetitions are reinforcements. The more you repeat a thing, the stronger you make it until it becomes habit and then habit feels like “instinct” or “intuition” when really it’s just seared, engraved and deeply entrenched learned behaviour.
How do you make someone stop doing something they’ve done for 60+ years already?
You can try herding him with incentives and disincentives (carrot and the stick) but fundamentally his nature is his nature.
They say you’re never too old to learn new things and in a very technical and precise way I agree with that.
But we also have two idioms from my culture that disagree with that
“You can’t teach an old dog new tricks”
And
“A leopard never changes its spots”
Meaning a person has a fundamental nature that cannot be overwritten, you can change behaviour and learn skills at any age, yes, but not rewrite the operating system of their being. So if a man has always been arrogant and low truth preference his entire life, that’s just the type of person that he is.
You may wish to think otherwise and sincerely wish to help him, but I could not in good conscience tell you that is possible, and furthermore I would add we must accept that not everybody can be helped.
It’s the byproduct of your own ego to think if you do well enough or try hard enough or truly give your all to something you can force a desired outcome. And that is a generally useful attitude to have, but it also just isn’t entirely true: there are things beyond your control you are powerless to change that will not meaningfully respond to your best efforts applied to them - I believe he is one such thing.
