Gold miners are producing more gold than ever. It has never cost more to produce it.

Global mine output reached 966 tonnes in Q2, up 2% YoY and the highest ever for a June quarter. H1 production hit 1,867 tonnes, a record and 3% above H1 2025.

Industry AISC reached a record $1,785/oz in Q1, up 16% YoY. The World Gold Council says higher royalties and corporate overheads drove the increase, with the first signs of higher energy prices from the Middle East conflict beginning to show up at some operations.

Production growth was led by:
