@kenkenlewu Let’s not be judgmental. We don't truly know what he might be facing over there. While bringing his girlfriend over shouldn't be a priority over his family, it is clear he needs someone with life experience to talk to, ideally a good counselor.
I believe it is time for those of us living abroad to wake up to a difficult reality. When it comes to securing your retirement or investing your hard-earned money, you must exercise extreme caution, even with family members living in Nigeria.Take, for instance, the recent situation of a mother and her son. When he eventually informs her that he plans to return to Nigeria to check on this investments, how might she react if things have not been handled transparently? In many cases, a relative in that position might resort to extreme measures, whether trying to spiritually or psychologically manipulate the situation so the son forgets about the property entirely, or constantly discouraging him from visiting by claiming the country is not safe. To everyone living in diaspora, please prioritize your safety and financial security. Do not blindly trust anyone with your hard-earned money. If you want to care for your family, the safest approach is to place them on a comfortable, monthly salary or allowance. However, when it comes to investing in your future, it is often much safer to hire a professional, independent third party whose services you pay for. Family members frequently let a sense of entitlement cloud their judgment. They will inflate costs significantly while claiming they are doing you a favour, whereas a professional agent might charge you less, transparent fee without family entitlement. To illustrate this, just last week I was trying to sell one of my properties in Ibadan. An agent contacted me with a buyer, and we agreed on a sale price of ₦30 million. On the day the payment was to be made, the agent called to explain that the actual buyer lives in Canada, and their family members back home had inspected the property on their behalf. The agent then asked if the buyer could transfer ₦35 million to my account, with the understanding that I would refund the extra ₦5 million directly to the family members.I immediately refused. Imagine a family member inflating the price of a property by ₦5 million, all while telling their relative abroad that they are helping them secure a good deal.We must love our families, but we must also protect our future. Let us all be incredibly vigilant, business-minded, and careful with what we do with our hard-earned money
To the Nigerian High Commission this is unacceptable. The poor service provided to the Nigeria in the Uk at all biometric centres was poorly bad. I was scheduled for a biometric appointment at 10:00 AM. To ensure I arrived well ahead of my scheduled time, I traveled all the way from Scotland to london . Despite my punctuality and compliance with their guidelines, I was left waiting for over three hours without being attended to, and without receiving any explanation or updates from the staff.
The extreme incompetence displayed has caused a lot of Nigeria significant distress and financial loss. Many fellow citizens waiting alongside me expressed deep frustration and shared similar grievances regarding the standard of service provided by the Commission. As a Nigerian citizen, I expect to be treated with dignity and efficiency. I request the Commission should immediately investigate the systemic failures occurring at every branch and expedite biometric process without further delay, and take concrete steps to improve the overall service delivery for all citizens and a swift resolution to this matter.
@PeterObi I deeply disagree with this approach. The youth of Nigeria voted for you because they expected you to boldly defend your mandate, not just defer to a court system that inspires little confidence. This decision has let down many of your strongest supporters who expected a more courageous fight for what belongs to the people.
@renoomokri I always respected your willingness to hold the administration accountable for its missteps. Seeing you align with them now is disappointing, as it feels like a compromise of core principles. Nigeria’s progress relies heavily on consistent public figures who stand firmly by their critiques rather than shifting ground.
@UBACares My name is written full across the form. I only put my middle name initials in where there’s no space to write it full.
This doesn’t stop you from doing your work since it’s written in full where there’s enough space.
You guys should do better
@JUSTIN8690@General_Somto Yes. For a reason and you will be told the reason before they carry on there job. Not in an illegal way. They will do there job in a way that respects your rights and dignity.
100pcs is only produced per year. Nigeria has more than a thousand in stock. Where are they getting it from? Is there a company in Abba that produces Nigerians own?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Seen this your post make me realize some of Nigerians are still gullible. Why should asking why they are searching you become an offense? You have every right to ask why they are searching you. I have been driving for years and police have never stop me for once. If you’re to be searched, Without you’re asking it is there duty to tell you why they’re searching you and it must be a good reason. Please wise up and know your right man.
@GistLovers This is one of the nonsense some Africans still believe in. If truly it’s what you did that made him blow, why don’t you do it for your son or any member of your family?
I respectfully disagree with this perspective, @Sowore. Public etiquette, especially in our culture, places a high value on respecting elders regardless of their social status. Even the children of prominent figures like Tony Elumelu would likely use a respectful title when addressing a security guard who is old enough to be their father in a public setting. It is less about the job and more about public respect for age.
@StanbicIBTC For almost 2weeks now you guys have not been able to update my account, after I have provided all the necessary documents. Why is it taking long just to update?
