But you can't bully anyone into making Obi president.

So let me help you by presenting his Baba Ijebu Economic legacy.

I tell people that anyone who couldn't perform in Anambra -a state with high potential for business , has no business being Nigeria's president.

I call Peter Obi's economy during his days as Governor "Baba Ijebu economy".

He kept money in the bank and was patching roads and re-painting schools.

Look at the result.

1. Time in Office

Peter Obi’s tenure as Governor of Anambra State:

First sworn in: March 17, 2006
Impeached and reinstated briefly in 2006–2007 (court actions)

2. Poverty Statistics
Before Obi (baseline)

Poverty rate in Anambra: 41.4 % (based on a National Bureau of Statistics headcount from 2003–04, the closest period before Obi’s start)

During Obi
Poverty rate increased to ~53.7 % by around 2009–10 while he was governor, according to NBS and fact-checks.

After Obi (for comparison)

Under the next governor, Willie Obiano, poverty reportedly dropped to 14.8 % by 2019 according to NBS state poverty figures.

Internally Generated Revenue (IGR)
State revenue numbers provide a window into economic activity:

2006 IGR: ~N4.6 billion
2013 IGR: ~N8.7 billion
2014 IGR: ~N10.4 billion

This means IGR roughly doubled in nominal terms over Obi’s eight years — albeit from a low base, and this does not directly equate to broader economic growth.

The reason was because he intensified collecting of taxes without building infrastructure.

Analysts note that IGR alone is not a comprehensive measure of economic health (it depends on taxation, which can suppress private spending).

There were no infrastructure spendings which were injecting money into the economy just like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing.

There were no shock absorbers like the NELFUND today and other projects Tinubu is sponsoring to support the people today.

So, looking at his report card, is this the person who will perform economic miracles in Nigeria?

I don't deceive myself.

I don't don't base my decisions on emotions.

I love Peter Obi but my stand on leadership matters are different.

If he couldn't build Mega infrastructural projects and open up Anambra for investments, then what did he actually do as Governor?

You can't see the major real estate projects you normally see in Area H and other places in Owerri from even around 2013.

It's just now that Governors Willie Obiano and Professor Charles Soludo began to open up certain areas of the city.

Imagine Anambra had an airport just recently under Obiano?
