Fun fact, Y-chromosome sperm swim faster but die quicker. X-chromosome sperm are slower but can survive for days.
So, if you want a boy → have sex on the night of ovulation.
If you want a girl → a few days before ovulation. The Y sperm swims faster but dies 24-48 hrs while the X(female) sperm is slower compared to the Y but can survive up to 4-5 days in her reproductive tract.

Not 💯 a guaranteed formula as some other factors can contribute but has been used since the 1960s.

In essence: sex closer to ovulation gives you a higher chance of fertilizing with the Y-chromosome sperm, the one responsible for a boy and for a girl, you know what to do. 😎
