Yes I had a relationship that ended 1 week to our engagement.

Ever since I shared this, I’ve gotten so many DMs about heartbreak and pain

One said “sis Debby, I feel like I’ve been set on fire. The pain is unbearable. Please how did you do it”?

Honestly I haven’t responded to anyone on this

Because even though it’s something I’ve been through, emotional pain is so UNIQUE.

It affects us so differently

And I’m no expert on the subject. But I’ve taken time to think about it deeply and consider my own journey to healing in retrospect

So here’s what I’ll say

🤍CRY.

Many times people will say
“Oh don’t waste any second crying.”

“It’s their loss. They’ve missed out on you.”

“You don’t know what God saved you from”

All these is true but I highly recommend you mourn. What this does is that it allows you think and process the sad thing that happened to you.

I’ll describe it like draining pus out of wound.

Don’t bottle it up

You gave your love and time and energy. Now it’s over. It’s sad. Mourn it

Cry very well. Then clean your eyes. And cry some more.

🤍Prepare for the roller coaster

You would think you have healed. And all its well

And boom. Something reminds you and you feel the ache again.

It’s ok. Healing is not so linear. Brace yourself

One moment you’re laughing and the next minute, you’re tearing up. It’s ok

🤍It’s nothing you did

Except you have a character flaw and it was pointed out, if your relationship ended because the timing wasn’t right or the person just liked someone else more,

Please don’t fall into the pit of self hatred

It’s not because you’re short and chubby and you have acne.

There’s nothing about yourself that is wrong.

You just weren’t picked. And that’s ok too.

You’re someone else’s spec.

🤍Knowing why won’t change much

There’s this other pit where you start obsessing about the “why’s”

“Why did they not chose me”?
“What can I do different”?

Why this why that

Then you want to call the person. You want to understand why

Even if they can articulate the reasons, what would that do for you?

It has ended. Accept it. Move o

Stop focusing on what has ended.

If you’re a believer in Christ, start asking God “Father, what’s next for me”?

🤍Talk to the Holyspirit

Beliver in Christ? Come close again.

Talk to Him. I mean literally.

Open your mouth and say “Holyspirit, my heart is hurting. Please help me heal.

I promise you, He will do it.

You’ll wake up every day and discover your heart hurts less and less.

I promise you.

Men and not scum. Women and not witches

Don’t let the devil tell you lies.

Don’t start doubting the leading of God either.

God still has a plan for you

There’s someone out there who will think you’re the best human being in the world

Who would provide a sade space for you to be loved and to grow and thrive

It will happen for you

I know because it happened for you

And I know God is not partial.

Heard Lautech wants to move Anatomy and Physiology to Pure and applied science faculty when it’s obviously a medical program.

The students pay 600k tuition fee while those under PASSA pay 200k. How do people apply to a school to study a medical program and you want to change it mid way?

The decision makers in Lautech need to do better, there are more important things to focus on there, which needs to be fixed, but this isn’t one of it.

The students’ voices need to be heard.

Students of Physiology in LAUTECH are currently on protest refusing the plan of the school authority to transfer them to PASSA (science faculty)

they believe it is a downgrade to them as they’re been treated as medical students from the beginning..from their mark grades to school fees level, currently the 100 and 200LVL students are paying 600k+ as fees which would be outrageous for a PASSA department.
