It’s particularly hard to be African. Worse when you’re a man. Build at your parents’ village home. Then after 5 years you’re told you’re big and must go build your own village home. This, while paying monthly for your Windhoek or Swakop house. A car - even a basic one - is equally a prerequisite. Add to this the generational family poverty which bred unemployed cousins (black tax). You never reach a point where your money is just yours to enjoy. Life of an African is a fatal disease!
Congratulations, Peter Shalulile!
Namibia celebrates with you on becoming the Premier Soccer League’s all-time top goal scorer with 130 goals. This remarkable milestone is a shining example of what hard work, discipline, and determination can achieve.
Your success reminds us of the power of sports to inspire, unite, and create opportunities, as envisioned in NDP6. You have carried the Namibian flag with pride and set the bar high for the next generation of athletes.
Well done, Peter. You have made the entire nation proud! 🇳🇦Photo: Transfermarkt
Please repeat for the person at the back of the room. Years of consistent poor service delivery and absolutely no urgency to get their ducks in a row. We are on our own.
Life’s indeed a journey. Successful is he who can navigate the ups & downs while maintaining his balance. Don’t dwell on the past, don’t wallow in self-pity, don’t repeat mistakes, don’t focus on negativity, help others along the way, spread kindness wherever you go.
If I win £85m on tonight’s Euro millions, I’m driving to Brentford tomorrow, slapping £70m on the table for Mbeumo and driving him directly to OT. I can make do with just £15m for myself. I’ll cope.
