BREAKING: The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is considering raising the minimum capital requirements for Bureau De Change (BDC) operators to N2 billion for Tier 1 licenses and N500 million for Tier 2 licenses.

It was previously N35 million for a general license.

The updated regulations encompass numerous modifications to the guidelines governing BDC activities within the nation. Once approved, these updated guidelines will come into effect on a date determined by the CBN.

Tier 1 operators must maintain a minimum share capital of N2 billion and also submit a Mandatory Caution Deposit of N200 million.

The fee for application is N1 million, while the license fee amounts to N5 million.

In Tier 2, operators are required to possess a minimum share capital of N500 million and maintain a Mandatory Caution Deposit of N50 million.

The application fee is N250,000, while the license fee amounts to N2 million.

The central bank also mentioned that the specified minimum capital requirement for BDCs, along with any additional capital infusion, will need to be confirmed by the CBN.

Palestine exposes Western hypocrisy

The Israeli-Gaza war has exposed Western nations for what they are: incurable hypocrites. The same people that support Ukraine in its fight to drive away Russian aggressors and occupiers, fail to see the justification for the long abused, oppressed Palestinians to also stand up and free their land from Israeli occupiers, who treat them as sub-humans. Israel this year before the outbreak of war last Saturday had killed over 200 Palestinians.
Israel keeps defying the UN with impunity as it continues to build more homes in areas that belong to Palestine. The whole world knows before the latest eruption that Gaza is an open air prison for its two million population.
Instead of Western nations to join the reasonable call for peace and justice in the never ending conflict, they have chosen to support Israel. The greatest surprise is Ukraine, which is fighting Russia. It also supports Israel.
The West labels Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorists, the way they labelled ANC, MPLA and other African liberating groups. Dear Western nations, Hamas and Hezbollah are fighting right causes. They are fighting for freedom. They are not terror groups. Listen to them and do justice, instead of backing their oppressors. It's time for the implementation of the 2-state solution to the perennial conflict.

Daughter suspected that Daddy was cheating on Mummy, she snitched on Daddy, got his password, opened his phone while he was sleeping and handed the phone to Mummy. Mummy thanked her, locked the phone, woke Daddy up and told him to change his password because Daughter already knew it.

Daddy was disappointed in Daughter. Daughter was disappointed in Mummy. Mummy was very proud of herself. She told Daughter "You see this Man?
