Toronto has an extensive tram network. It also has the slowest tram network in the world, and it’s not close. The city could transform how people get around for cheap if they had political will. What’s the point of having streetcars if we don’t exploit their benefits?
How Ontario is planning to defeat traffic: running 18 GO trains per hour on a single line.
GO Expansion is truly the most exciting transit project in North America.
Exciting to see the our largest transit investment in decades come to its final stretch - @CrosstownTO. Steps away from our Leaside Common and 1414 Bayview projects!
Where is your plan @fordnation? Some clarity and a plan would be a nice change, rather than letting businesses and the public know the day of. #ontpoli#ontariolockdown#TOpoli
Toronto’s ravines may be my favorite place in the world. The juxtaposition of the natural and built environment or should I say their integration, is to me the greatest thing about Toronto. I can’t think of any city that does this better.
@shoshannasaxe@cityoftoronto Always thought part of the appeal about using pavers was the ability to remove and re-install them without damaging them (besides obvious aesthetic benefits)
I’m glad we’re accelerating the install of bike lanes, but Toronto is still painfully slow to accept cycling as a legitimate alternative and that the car should not always be king. https://t.co/hD5TqIasIx
The per capita tax hit to make the TTC free (at current ridership) would be less than $400 a ~year~. A ~monthly~ pass currently costs $150.
If you're a politician taking about making Toronto more affordable, you should be taking about making transit free.
.@realDonaldTrump - we know many of the same people in NY. Behind your back they laugh at you & call you a carnival barking clown. They know you inherited a fortune & squandered it with stupid deals and incompetence.
I have the record & the resources to defeat you. And I will.
Making space for cyclists: Mayor of Paris proposes removing 60,000 parking spaces from city streets. That's how you do it, that's how you change a city. #Priorities https://t.co/wlMScSNFdW
I think a Toronto-Montréal route could be profitable, maybe with a stop in Kingston. Perhaps it’s time to get some pension funds involved. https://t.co/APbmz5bIsd
