I knew going to the Amex was never going to be easy, but getting smoked 3 – 0 is something I never expected.

And honestly, it’s not even the result that worries me, it’s the performance. Brighton’s press completely suffocated us. We struggled to play out, couldn’t progress the ball properly, and looked incapable of controlling the game.

We had 11 shots but only 2 on target, while Brighton created chance after chance.

The third goal from a set piece was especially painful. Our set-piece defending has been a serious problem.

And the attack? Toothless. We need much more creativity, penetration and threat.

We needed attacking reinforcements in the summer. Instead, we sold three attackers and brought in just one, leaving the squad short in a position that was already a concern.

January cannot come soon enough. We need serious attacking reinforcements and serious improvements.

This performance was a massive warning sign. ⚠️
